I didn't lag last night but I only had captain twice during home. Not big enough test range yet.

There is no IP block feature in Sagecom router setting, nor is there in many routers.

I applaud you for your investigation but there are a few things to consider.

    - That IP is part of an entire block EA owns in that range - it's part of a cluster. I have traces from a NHL this month with different IP's in that block, including 159.153.76.33 and 159.153.76.28. Essentially your fix isn't a fix unless you ban the whole block.
    - People are lagging from NA mismatch servers as well. I've seen a few traces from guys on east coast that keep connecting to west.
    - Be careful what EA tells you, their bread and butter excuse has been to blame lag on bad geographical server matches. This is why they've been saying for years to "change your xbox timezone" which NHL uses internally to see where you live, and match you with a similar server.

I have blocked the name server for the 76.33 server as well to encompass all IPs going this route. By blocking the name servers physical address, you will never need to worry about the ip changing as the main source will be forever blocked. The only way this would change is if the actual server was changed at that point.

Setting up access lists as well will make sure the fix remains until the full patch is released

Blocking name servers and country codes is something that works for me when building/modifying websites for clients. Keeps the crazy Russians away by filtering out any traffic from that area. Applied the same concept to this individual patch

Each country has a code assigned to it for the IP. You can block all IP's that have an origin point from that code. I haven't done this myself, but I contract that portion out to another individual in my office that does. We use it to stop places like Russia from getting into the back end of the site.
