Honest score

How do we know if everyone is posting honest scores? not saying anyones cheating but is every score being checked?

 

Until we have a more automated system, we are scoreboard watching.

Of course we are relying on our community to have some integrity and report accurate scores until we can get access to the API and pull peoples scores.
During this time, if we find anyone to be cheating we will approach them and discuss. If it becomes a regular thing, we will remove them permanently.

Unfortunately, people will cheat to win, even in a video game. You know you can trust my scores, because why would I lie about being that bad? lol

 

Maybe create a penalty system opposed to straight removal?

Example:

Caught 1x- 100 points penalty + points penalty of those earned in tournament (or the whole week)

Caught 2x- 500 points penalty + points penalty of those earned in tournament (or the whole week)

Caught 3x- 1000 points penalty + points penalty of those earned in tournament (or the whole week)

Caught 4x- removal + ban for season or multiple seasons (?)

 

So you're saying it's ok to cheat, as long as you don't get caught 4 times??? Sorry, I'm not on board with that.
We will give the person the benefit of a discussion so that they can offer clarification on what happened, but if it's deemed they blatantly cheated, we will protect our upstanding members(who are the real people we want involved in our league) and the integrity of the league we are trying to build, by removing those bad apples.

Golf is a gentlemen's game, fair play and sportsmanship are fore front. We expect nothing less here.

you should know by now I just throw out alternative options (good or bad) for the sake of consideration...even if poor - at least it's out in the open and the rest of LT understands the stance...hence my LGHL PA experience (hopefully that wasn't as terrible as you guys are pointing this is right now...lol)

for the record - the intention was to make something similar to the nhl strike system. It wasn't meant to 'allow cheaters who don't get caught'. I suppose (not that it makes a difference) I should have at least labelled them "violation 1 through 4" instead of "caught 1x - 4x"

...I tagged you nhl gents to read and perhaps look at things on another angle...but please if this is to be addressed put it up in a new LGHL thread (ie. keep it out of LT)

 

The LGHL is irrelevant, you are talking about a team league, where it's much harder to prove someone cheated, or even WHO was at fault.

The golf league is a start up league, we are trying to attract people to our league, now you want a 4 strike system for anyone that "Cheats"/"Violates"...yeah, that's going to look real good to perspective members.

We want this to be THE Tour to play on among the TGC community, we want victories to mean something bigger than anywhere else. In order to do that, we have to build our Rep, Cheating will not be tolerated. We want the BEST and those aspiring to be the best while maintaining a level of integrity that goes hand in hand with the game of golf.

We want all our members to be proud of this league, and proud of the fact they are part of it. We will do our part by making sure we do not allow shady happenings that hinder the advancement and growth of the Tour.

I'm OK with losing 1 member who's cheating, I'm NOT OK to losing 10,20,30 (existing and potential) members because people can get away with cheating/violations. We will protect our members(no need for a PA here), but it will be the RIGHT members that we protect.

Who is score checking [MENTION=4]Tris10[/MENTION] ? I find it hard to believe his score is legit.......... kidding of course. I have a lot of improving to do to become an elite golfer!

 

I played Ross Hollow right after Tris did and I matched his 64..Let me tell you I had to cheat my friggin ass off to do it...,snicker snicker lol

I did a 20 yards flop shot from the green at Boulder Point on one of those green with a 3 feet elevation, lol. No way I was going to try and go 3 feet uphill for a 40 feet putt
