    Like others are saying this has more to do with location than anything, any East vs West games will get substantially worse ping. Other games with "Better" connection most of the time is because there are generally more players and therefore more east vs east/ west vs west. All your connection to the servers will effect how many spikes in ping you get, this won't effect anyone else just yourself if you're downloading because you are on servers not peer-peer.

    It's EA and your location.
    VS's games is peer to peer,
    eashl is server based with obviously shit servers, the difference from playing on west coast servers to east coast severs is brutal.

    You should be able to pick a central location sever to play on so its fair for everyone.
