Seems like every new game there's at least 1 CanAm. Wondering how much interest there would be from a PSN side? I feel like CanAm is always a great way for players to take the next step in virtual hockey.
Would love to help run America again. However we need an exact definition and would like to keep this psn exclusive.
CanAm makes more sense for the PlayStation side. The lack of clubs interested in playing ESHL over here makes CanAm the logical replacement. Ideally this would be the exclusive tournament for the PS4 side. I think it would also make sense to exclude players who don't play in the LGPSN. Otherwise, what is the point of having CanAm if it's going to be the same 20 guys from Xbox playing?
We tried this before, the hard part is what is the exact definition of a “LGPSNer”. Signed up and playing in Lg? What about those taking a hiatus? What about those who argue “CanAm was always the BEST players regardless levels of activity”. If we can bridge that gap it can be a super fun event. And no not another regional bullshit. Best of USA vs Best of Canada
Keeping this an actual LG event would be the way to go imo. If you don't play virtual psn hockey here, than you don't get to partake in CanAm. CanAm hasn't been the best players for awhile tbh, and that's not always a bad thing. There's a lot of guys that could make the jump and something like a CanAm is always good for development.
Agreed, when they did it this way back in 17 it made for the most competitive LG seasons, and just in general PSN NHL had way more people playing club and stuff consistently
I would define a PSN player as anyone who is signed up for LGPSN. If elite Xbox players want to come over and participate in a tourney, at the very least they can participate in the LGPSN season. It creates a better PSN league with more top end talent, so it's best for business. I think having a different team selection method should also be considered. When we appoint two team owners and management, it just becomes a popularity contest instead of something that is earned. I would personally like to see the idea of qualifiers that everyone can participate in, and have the roster spots for CanAm earned, not given. Obviously that idea needs to be expanded but I think it could be a lot of fun for the entire league, not just ~30 players I think the focus should be on creating league interest, and growing the league, or at the very least growing participation in league events. CanAm has been around for years, and quite honestly it hasn't been the best vs the best in recent memory.
I would say if they play in this season or the past season they should be allowed to play CanAm. What usually comes down to is how strong each side is and the rules are bent. I'm down to help the American side.
To represent PSN, you should of played last season & this season in the LGHL PSN. Or if you want more talent, XBOX players that want to play, must sign up for PSN before being added to the roster. This is a really good way to get the top tier competition on PS4 to play competitive games. I can help with you'd like but I like the way this is going.
No xbox player should be able to come over at all unless they played LGHL PSN this season. Sure they could sign up for PSN next season but all it takes is a quick hit of the retire button and bam they broke the system. Also with the event being on playstation, i think we would all rather see the best of PSN not XBOX.
Let's be real here, you dont need a system for determining who an xbox vs psn guy is. Have a committee of like 5 dudes determine if a guy is psn or not. We know who is what console.
Anyone who participates in CAN-AM must also play in the current LG season. Same rule as before, I thought it worked out well as it raised the quality of players in the league.
