kiss my butt, servic i beat you! sure, it took most of my life, and $80,000 - but i beat you! I BEAT YOU!
I think the 4 star on serve's was the most difficult, the challenge for the 5th star was super easy, I hit every mark without missing on a single shot.
The serve stars were pretty easy for me for the most part... I just had to get used to the 4th Serve Star drill... then the rest were easy!
I have a character I created with five stars just to see the difference, but I never use him because I think the other attributes are way more important
I am still in Australia lol. Got 2 stars for lobbing(I believe it is called Lobbing) and then I just beat the tournament in Australia(my home land). But now I plan on going to Europe.
5 stars for serving is a waste IMO. It's one shot, and only in half the games (can't use that skill when you are returning serves). forehand, backhand, and volley skills are used on each and every point.
it's not necessarily a waste. if you have a strong serve, the chances are you will get a weak return. so, you may get aces AND you may get a weak return which allows you to set up your attack volley shot (assuming you moved in). if topspin is going to be relatively accurate, a serve/volley-er should be able to dominate the game much as in real men's tennis. this is sort of theoretical b/c i don't know what you get for getting 5 stars in serve. if you don't get a decent amount of aces/weak returns, then it's not worth it.
But when you are playing against some of the best in the world that 143 MPH serve is TOTALLY useless. Believe me, I wanted to have the biggest serve online, and I did, I still havn't played anyone hitting it at 143, but again, people where just smashing it right back at me. Maybe with a 4th skill that player might be more deadly, but I really don't think so.
I don't know, I have two guys and against the AI, I am getting a lot more aces with 5 stars than I did w/ four. I can usually get one if not two per service game. 25-50% of your points for free isn't a bad deal. You just have to vary your serves up, keep the opponent off balance.
I got a ton of aces against the AI with only 2 stars on serve. Getting an ace on the computer and getting one on an online opponent are completely different issues. I built my player for online play, not single player.
Did you guys that are getting aces set your player up as a Power player? I don't think I've ever scored a real ace against the AI.
I set mine up as a techician with only 2 stars on the serve and can ace the AI (mostly in non-Grand Slams though).
