League Player's REPs

Please VOTE if you think this league should have A player in your specific league who is voted on by players at the start of the season to be the voice of the players to the BOGS. Having a voice who is unbiased is very helpful and could help with the relationship between BOGs(staff) and player relations. This player will assist on all matters including Player suspensions/Bans and players rights. Thanks for listening.

I think that this COULD be a good idea...the problem is who is mature enough to handle it without just disagreeing with staff every time

@LG McDonald I understand that you have "nightmares" about this but the person would have no (legit) power and would just be a voice. I believe if we have and honest vote of 4 or 5 people vetted by you and your staff of course it could be a benefit for the league and its players. Just and Idea and thanks for listening .

 

Cause you're bias af, you don't listen to shit anybody says and you love to talk out you're ass. For example, you ban people with 0 proof, only suspicion. I think if some mature people (which there most definitely is) step up this is a great idea because the people who run this league do a lot of stupid shit

 

NFL has proven a totalitarian system does not work. Maybe having a committee that does not work for the league should handle punishments. I am not saying you are doing a BAD job by any means @LG McDonald but I feel a lot of players would be more comfortable being banned/ punished by a 3rd party would ease their souls. IMO.

 

Maybe so that people watching others in a game dont get banned. Cause I sure as hell know nobody is playing for someone on that 2 second delay lag fest.

 

This idea is great. If you can find the right people there is literally no down side to this. Having a P.A. would bring some of the issues people have with the league into one area to be discussed about instead of having 12 random forum posts pushed down the list by shit posts and other stupid posts accusing people of CR glitching. The AC leaves little to no room to have a discussion about an issue. This would not be as much about player bans as it would be about league changes to better the community. Think of it as LG's version of a 'Game Changer', which I am sure you are happy to be one as you can pitch ideas to make the game better.

Example: Give a group of 5-10 people a special role in the manager's discord with the title 'Player's Association Rep' or something along those lines and create a new text channel that only they can see to discuss idea's directly with the staff.

 

Just by reading the responses and prior cries for change in other forum posts, it seems the main issue that drives the discussion for player representation is suspensions and bans. Not contract negotiations, free agency, retirement or medical benefits like in a real life players union.

While I appreciate LG McDonald's transparency and willingness to discuss this topic, I feel there is a conflict of interest when it comes to the appeal process. Bogs take in a complaint, it gets reviewed by the staff and ruled upon. Then if the player wishes to appeal, it goes to commish and LG McDonald for further review. Where I take issue is that the hierarchy is just an extension of itself. LG Mcdonals chooses commish, who then chooses bogs. You're basically appealing to the same office like some pissed off lady named Karen demanding to speak to a manager at Bed Bath and Beyond.

My suggestion? Keep the complaints and initial rulings the same as they are with staff discretion. But if a player wishes to file an appeal, the evidence along with any new evidence must be presented to a group of 12 independent arbitrators (4 from NHL, AHL, CHL) to be reviewed and put to a vote. The arbitrators must have a vast knowledge of the rule book and basically determine if the punishment fits the crime based on the letter of the law and precedents set forth in prior rulings. These arbitrators can be voted upon and appointed by the players each offseason and serve a 1 season term unless re-elected. They will have the power to overturn a ruling or lessen/lengthen a sentence pending on their findings. This system will allow the player to be judged by a jury of their peers and give them the right to due process in the event they file an appeal.

 

First of all none of this is about me. But the whole point of having a player rep would be so players get fair representation when trying to do something for example, an appeal. In the past you've banned players with no proof and you don't listen to anything they say because you assume they're guilty. With that said I think a player rep would be very useful if you actually listen to what they said. If you listened to what players say to you then this thread wouldn't even be made.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone get banned for something they didn’t do. If you can find me an example I’d be glad to hear it tho.
