Let's see if anyone happens upon this thread... I know there was a decent amount of people on LeagueArena who enjoyed discussing and showcasing their favorite metal artists/tracks and I've recently been trying to expand my library as of late. Post whatever the hell you want pertaining to any sub-genre of metal. I'll start things off with how much I'm loving Architects new single "Naysayer":
Never have really given Soulfly a chance but I'm thinking I should because I like that track a lot and I always enjoyed their collaboration(s) with Corey Taylor.
Batman Arkham City turned me on to this band. Well, that, and I always did like Keith Buckley and Josh Newton from Every Time I Die.
Been getting into these guys lately. This is an awesome track. I also really like "Basement" and "Stardust".
Not bad at all. I don't think I'd catch myself listening to them by myself but this reminds me of a lot of the music I'd listen to a few years back that transitioned me into some heavier stuff. This track in particular actually reminds me a lot of Five Finger Death Punch and some of their softer tracks, which I consider a good thing (in this case; FFDP have been getting worse and worse since their debut album, IMO). ________________________________________ A band that I only discovered just this year when I saw them live at Summer Slaughter has blown me away and quickly become one of my favorite bands and released my 2nd favorite album of 2013, "Pelagial". I find they have a progressive sound but it is a very accessible sound. This happens to be my favorite track on the album but I'd recommend checking out the entire thing if you enjoy this. The album plays out almost as if it's just one long track and it makes for a great atmospheric experience.
Soulfly has been one of my favs just cause of max especially after he left Sepultura. Although new Sepultura album is really solid! Here is another one of my favs saw them live a few years ago and met the bass player Jim at the time.

Brownie points for putting up some Revocation. I love Revocation. I also saw them live this past Summer and God damn, did they win me over. Dave Davidson is a God. EDIT: I forgot that they made one of my favorite music videos ever, too.
From my favorite album of 2013:

Being younger than most and growing up with the dawn of nu-metal, my gateway bands that got me into the genre consisted of Disturbed, Slipknot, System of a Down, Killswitch Engage and Korn. I still remember when I was real young and first heard screaming vocals and didn't know what the hell to think. Still love a lot of the stuff that originally got me to where I am now in terms of musical preference:
This is a one man band I discovered in the summer playing with sithu aye who also does similar type of music. No lyrics
This was the band that made screaming accessible to me. Their live shows were F'N awesome. This is the original version of their most popular song This is my Fav song from them. Reveille, i basically used this band to learn how to play drums. The Used. (from self titled disk) My generation was all about "nu-metal", I'm definitely not a big fan of growling over a blast beat.
Off of their brand new EP and from my all-time favourite band, "Feed The Ground".
