    This upcoming offseason will be the longest offseason for LG due to the release of NHL 21 being delayed to October 16th.

    Therefore, to fill the void, we can run a small tournament (3 weeks) in place for it if there is enough interest. This could be the last thing for NHL 20 before it hits the shelves.

    The tournament would be a draft style with tiered leagues.

    Format:
    • Each league has its own draft for the NHL and AHL based on the S36 NHL and S36 AHL rosters.
    • Each roster would consist of 12 players.
      • Each team lands 4-5 TC (if it's just by level).
      • Possibly add in the AHL team as TCs if needed).
    • The schedule would be set as a round-robin (15 games against your conference, 1 game each).
    • Playoffs would be the top 2 seeds per division, knockout-round style.
    Rosters:
    • 12-man rosters consisting of 6 forwards, 4 defensemen, 2 goalies.
      • Each skater has to play 4 games a week, goalies can split 5-3.
    • For playoffs rounds 1-2, each skater/goalie must play Games 1 & 2 respectively. Game 3 can be any combination.
    • For the finals, each skater/goalie must play 1 game before Game 3, and 2 before Game 4. Game 5 can be any combination.
    Suggested Timeline:
    • Sept 10-16: Plan out the event, find Owners, etc.
    • Sept 17: Draft for NHL
    • Sept 18: Draft for AHL
    • Sept 20-23: Round Robin Week 1 using 2-2-2-2 format
    • Sept 27-30: Round Robin Week 2 using 2-2-2-1 format
    • Oct 04: Round 1 Playoffs, BO3
    • Oct 05: Round 2 Playoffs, BO3
    • Oct 06-07: Finals, BO5
    This is only something to pass time and have our community active. Think of it like the FNP/SNP draft, but you play with the same team for 2-3 weeks. No trades, no waivers.

    The "No Trades, No Waivers" in my opinion will ruin this tournament. We all know how some people in this league get when they can't play with the players THEY want to... just gonna cause unnecessary bans leading into a cash grab for Tris on buyouts, so for me it's gonna be a no.

    So because of some assholes the rest of the people that just want to have some fun to end NHL20 get fucked? If you don't want to get banned don't sign up for it.

    If this tournament happens, the AHL should just be the TC to the NHL. If the NHL were to draft TC players, most of those players would probably prefer getting to play in the AHL or teams could troll and just draft a TC that they'd never consider using.

    I think ahl and nhl should combine for the initial draft. let the n draft first idk how many teams than right after let the ahl draft their teams than whoever is remaining can tc for both leagues. Everyone who is good enough to play in their required league will play at the highest just like it will be next season with no late signups.
