Please Vote! LGHL Ownership Dillema

Word in the chatbox and DMs is that the ownership applicants for this LGHL season are thin, with many applicants void of any lghl experience or winning seasons. With LG staff scrambling to fill the 16 remaining owner spots before the draft, what would make YOU (an ex/wannabe owner) want to take the job. Make the owners contract what it was the last time they were in bidding... Free Gm and AGM.

Then a goalie or 3rd liner can take ownership and not hamper the team.

 

Fuck sending PMs lets do it in a thread, let the public collaborate on how to make this league/situation better in a thread, present all the facts from both sides and come to a conclusion for the better of a league.

Maybe we're at size or point now where the public needs to vote or help grow this thing together. You got 35 people currently who read the choices and chose to voice their displeasure including a mixture of no names, owners and essay writers.

Maybe transparency in all these cases/action centers involving suspensions needs to be made public with the facts etc...

 

Lmao so force a guy who wants to avoid being 10M in bidding again, to be owner and be... 10M? What a dumb idea

 

Three weeks shorter. Same amount of games per week. Also CHL should be one round less. There shouldn’t be two rounds (last two) in one week, especially the most important ones.

 

Thank you for taking this seriously. I think from an outsider looking in, becoming an owner is scary because of all the incidents that have happened with past owners. I feel that at times the rule book is looked at too closely/literally when common sense should prevail, especially with "consequences" for breaking a grey area rule. I'd be scared of needing proof that I invited an ECU to a party for example, you don't really think about that in the moment. This league is a good compromise of fun vs competitive and I don't think that the Avs situation was handled right, it definitely affected the results of who won the cup.

Just looking at that example as well as a few others, I feel that there's a lot of ways for me to get screwed over as an owner if I applied to be one. I say all of this in a constructive way as I want this league to be the absolute best it can be, I really enjoy LG and I want it to continue to thrive like it has.

 

Maybe the rebuttal shows the 35 people they are wrong, and maybe gives them a chance to post their evidence of why they feel that way.

 

Just my two cents. I don't think anyone is saying that Shorty is the #1 problem in LG. The OP asked for reasons why you wouldn't own and the BOGs are certainly part of the reason why people would chose not to own. Why they're targeting just Shorty? I couldn't tell you (maybe just because he's now the main guy?), and I'm sure plenty of those votes are just people trying to be funny or just selecting whatever option they feel like.

Back to why I chose that as one of my options. You're going to disagree with me here, but there's a strong feeling of many members in the league that it's "BOGs vs The World." The BOGs can Never be wrong, and the few times they admit to being wrong excuses are made instead of saying "our bad, we fucked up."

Some of this is true to an extent, but I feel like the main problem that has always existed when it comes to issues in the league is the whole "Guilty until proven innocent" process when it comes to bans/suspensions, etc. I don't even feel the need to explain how ass backwards that is. The excuse is made that you'd rather rule on a complaint first, then later decide to get all the facts if an appeal is made. Why not get all the facts from both sides before ruling on anything? You'll say that it takes too much of your time, but how is ruling on something once worse than ruling on something twice?

In the recent case of the Colorado ECU scenario, someone like Shorty can go out of his way to contact the player who was ECU'd to see what was going on there, and then he gave Colorado a controversial ruling over something that was never complained about. He can do that, but you guys don't have enough time to get both sides of an argument first? Lastly, bans/suspensions without formal complaints should 100% never be a thing, all bans of that nature should be overturned (sorry Tris' wallet )

 

Everybody appreciates what the staff does for us dont get it twisted, when you look at the amount of proven mgmt and respected players who are voting to remove shorty that should be a concern.

Everybody has there reasons and I am sure the majority are case by case but I will be posting a statement documenting the continuous misconduct from shortylose whether it is verbal harrassment, biased decisions, neglecting his responsibilities or abusing his power. From holding up trades because "there is not enough people in the chatbox" to issuing bans prior to investigation or allowing management to talk to players before quitting and instantly banning them.

I know i have been controversial at times but this isnt about me this is about what would be best for the league. So please be prepared and dont get butt hurt when you read some of these responses

if you start out poor you dont have as much time to recover with less games. Lets just be real. You will all bitch even with a shorter season. Like somehow that makes you better at this game.

 

Make NHL rosters 2 lines(Force players not to skip NHL bidding ), shorten season to a total of 8 weeks including playoffs.
Makes playing on non playoffs team a lot more "bearable" and would probably decline people bailing out.


Its time to move away from the "sim" aspect and adjust to virtual gaming.

Maybe once every three seasons or so, do what we did in S24 and run an abbreviated season?

This season, it looks like there's a mad rush to get everything set for bidding. Making one of the seasons shorter would lead to less hectic off-seasons.

 

The pros outweigh the cons. At everything someone is gonna be a tool about it.
1) meet new people, more frequently
2) shorter seasons, less weight on management = more owners applying
3) people get sick of each other after awhile which ruins relationships and leads to back stabbing (ie kiroxy situation)
4) if your on a bad team, less time on that team = less forfeits, less people leaving the site or taking bans
