Jer Dubz is sticking with what works, QC forward lineup. Archambault at 2.5 million is a great choice and having both Dubz and Gregy as a 1-2 center duo leaves him to either dominate third lines or be a winger and provide the offense there. Overall they have tons of depth, especially at center, but the question is who their top line LW will be.

A top pairing of LilNickal and Lafond is a good choice albeit coming at the steep price of 15 million. The good news is that they got some cheap and reliable defensemen in Beaupre and Apex Carrot to fill out the bottom pairs. John had quite the disappointing summer in Washington but expect that to change on a much better Bruins squad. The tandem of SteveB and Zero is one of the best in the division with two starters that will both compete for 5 games a week. Add in a good defense top to bottom and these two will keep the pucks out of the net.

Last seasons cup finalists return with quite a few new faces. Sooksta is not one of those people though. At 7.25 million you'd think he'd be providing more but he certainly showed up in the playoffs both on offense and defense. Dork will be his likely partner on the right side with with NextOne in the middle. Honesrule and At are also a good 1-2 for a second line. And Killzone was a steal at 500k and will be a good 3rd line center.

Defensively you see a mix of people who helped Buffalo to their success last season and some names which are very much under the radar. BlueLineKing and Daly both were key figures in their playoff push and should be a good top pair. LuckyLuke is a wild card, I can't really predict how he'll do and his numbers are all over the place. His price tag is quite steep and he'll be expected to perform very well on the 2nd pair with Jobo. The bottom pair of Vatty and GK is quite horrid. One has no real stats to go off of and Vatty has a long list of bad numbers. This is by far the weakest spot on the team. Revv has been absolutely dominating in club so far in NHL19 and you can expect that to continue. Follisimo doesn't really seem like a great choice with the stats and what was out there but maybe AT knows something we don't.

The first thing I see when I look at the forward lineup is their fantastic depth at all positions. The left side is going to be Wall/Armorcore/Basful which is great for only 4.5 in total. Their center lineup maybe leaves a bit to be desired but CJ will be a great top line choice. To top it off having Nash and Jemima on the right side is one of the best RW pairs in the east. Scoring will not be an issue for this team.

This is the best defensive core on paper in the Atlantic. The top four is stacked with Bert, Mondi, Stamtoast and Rex/Bud. Shake and Bake had a fantastic AHL season and at 500k is someone to keep an eye on this season. The question is who is making the switch to LD in the lineup over from the right side, as it could have a big impact on the chemistry of the team. EgoKiller is always having great seasons and not getting the credit for it. He's been with this management group for seasons now and he should have one of his best this time around. Aerotonic was quite the goalie many seasons ago and he'll be needed to push this team to a Stanley Cup.

I'm going to stick with numbers so that these ratings don't appear subjective. All three of their LWs were under 50 points and below .500 last season. They are lacking top end talent there. Carm95 is a PSN elite who will be desperately needed to carry the top line while James is looking to recover after one horrible season in Florida last summer. Lethal sniper is a okay choice for a 3rd line center. The right side of Haze at 7.25, Drai who openly says he's not great at forward, and Polka Boss does not inspire confidence in that side of the ice either. Florida's third line is going to be pretty good up front, but they are not going to compete with top lines (unless it's Carch and Philly).

PeteyMac is unproven at the NHL level, but I think he'll perform okay on a top pair with Gary Garoo. Trasher and Stayz both were subpar last season, I don't know how much they'll improve and they have large cap hits. MBell is a wild card, and last but not least is Poopie Snoopie. That should be self explanatory. Huskie doesn't look too back with his CHL stats but it's someone I haven't seen play. and Hautein was not impressive at all last season for the Panthers or their AHL team.

Last season Karmuh had build one of the better teams in the East but just had a rough round one matchup. He's hoping to improve on last season by picking up a good manager in Gabesh who is a ESHL teammate of his. The question is who their top center is. Montreal appears to have lots of depth on the wings but a bit shallow up the middle. Karmuh chose three cheap and talented players for the center role but none have been top liners before. Luffy Qc has always been a defenseman and like Panda it will be interesting to see how he transitions to a forward role with defensive responsibilities.

Landy and Ragey as a top pair should be able to compete with most teams in the division while trading for Rivit helps fill out their depth lineups. Fiberstick at 1.5 may be one of the best contracts on the team for what he brings to the table. There really aren't any holes on the defense but nothing that stands out when compared to similar caliber teams in the conference. In net Charyzen is someone I don't know and don't have much to go off of and MNWebby always seems to be on playoff teams so this could be a good indicator of the potential quality of this team.

Krawch has formed a mix of well known NHL talent with the core of his 2x Calder winning lineup and it looks like potential is here for a quality team. Tb Toxic and PureRippin as a top pair is elite but it did come at the price of almost 20 million. Sudzy is reportedly the biggest steal of bidding hence the 3 season deal immediately placed on him. The whole forward core has chemistry or great talent, an most of it on the cheap. Watch out for this team in your own zone.

That 20 million dollars spent hit the roster somewhere and it shows on defense. The LD lineup is a list of great AHL dmen on the cheap and a PSN forward who should do okay. It appears he also got Magic and Random as a duo for defense on the cheap as they both were great for Rockford last season. Nooch is the only notable defenseman with NHL experience. This core is either going to make Krawch look like a genius or an idiot. Darcy has been elite in the AHL, getting another shot on an NHL squad with many people he knows. Justdumpit is a name that popped up in a few really good club games I've seen. He could be quite the steal if he plays the same way.

Tampa Bay has the potential to turn into one monster of a team, more than they already are. AMalcs/Krejci/Back in Black is already a fantastic LW lineup and for so cheap it's insane. Stewkos is also going to be a great top line center with Kopi making a scary 1-2. Yoshi as a third line C is well worth a shot at 500k. Dats could also be in that position and he's also quite the player. AzDvo is going to be on that top line with his guys and should perform well. Cotes is cheap and will fit right in with the Bolts playstyle.

Who's the top pair here? It's a large list of really good top 4 players but I don't see who is that cut above the rest. Shoco is actually a good candidate for the top pair with GunHavok, simply keeping the chemistry all throughout the top line. The good news is their depth is extremely good and cheap and you could really match them however you want. Buck seems to be quite the goalie in 19 but I want to see him play more before I bump my opinion of him up. Rowski was an elite old gen goalie and he'll likely be on a similar level. But if it's more like his new gen stats there could be some problems.

The biggest wild card on this roster isn't even a player. It's having 7 million in cap space while also having such a good lineup. Keep an eye out to see if the Bolts make a big trade in the coming weeks.

The forward core is a list of quality forwards at reasonable prices and will be a competitive lineup in the east. Defensively it is the same story with the likes of RockyRaccoon making the ESHL finals last night, there is promise and there are no bad contracts. Two ESHL starters in net really makes for one of the best tandems in the NHL.

DIVISION PREDICTIONS

*NOTE: I will be doing a 5th post to show my predictions for who makes the playoffs in the wild card as well as a BOLD cup finals prediction*

At this point in time it looks like the Red Wings have a slight edge over the rest of the division with their fantastic defensive lineup. Tampa Bay could become the best in the division or drop down a bit depending on their cap space usage, it's hard to predict. Toronto and Boston will be neck and neck and they'll be must watch games this season as both have lots of talent. Ottawa could easily get into the mix if their cheap defense pans out as planned. Montreal and Buffalo are both teams who are sleepers and could also make it into the wild card picture but with their current lineup I feel fall just short. Hate to tell you again Poopie, but you're only going to be above a team if they become an absolute train wreck like Tampa last season.
