Surprise: Florida Panthers 12-6-0 24PTS, 47 Goals For, 31 Goals Against, L10: 6-4-0 Florida came out with hot with a sensational 12-3 start to the season. Capitalize, their first round draft choice, is currently leading the team with 17 points in 5 games. Their last three games out west have been a bit disappointing offensively, but in those games and throughout the season so far Florida has done well defensively. B19allen and Rockystar are both below a 2.0 GAA. The Atlantic is looking more chaotic than predicted, and with a weak Metropolitan division Florida will be hoping to string together more weeks like these last two to keep their playoff aspirations. Their next tests are going to be PIT and NJD this coming Monday. Disappointment: Anaheim Ducks 7-8-3 17PTS, 48 Goals For, 61 Goals Against, L10: 3-5-2 While Vegas rebounded from their terrible first week Anaheim compounded on their slow start by playing even worse. It looks like the finger can be pointed at the defense and goaltending. Only once this season have they held an opponent to less than 2 goals. You can see how critical defense can when a team with the same goals for in Florida has a superior record with an almost identical goals for total. They have picked up Bake703 to try and shake things up but it is hard to say if that will be enough. Unlike the Atlantic, the Pacific is a two horse race in Vancouver and San Jose but in terms of playoff teams in this division you can't count any team out of it yet.
