LGHLPSN Week 1 Rankings

So without saying much because im not good at speaking. I would however like to point out that @crofto40 is the one who is doing the write ups so please dont give me the credit for that.


Here are your week 1 rankings:






Biggest Fails of Week 1:

Arizona Coyotes:
Record for week 1: 3-7-0

Arizona was picked to be in the top 5 in our post bidding rankings. The roster swap during the off season and change in management was supposed to have us hearing howls in the shout box after week 1 but instead all we heard are crickets.

The Coyotes only scored 16 goals while allowing 35. The games they won were against Chicago (won 3-1), Minnesota Wild (won 1-0) and the St. Louis Blues (won 2-1). The games were still close score wise and could have gone the other way. Look to see them address multiple issues before going into week 2.

Tampa Bay Lightning:
Record for week 1: 1-6-2

In our post bidding rank, we had Tampa Bay settled in the 6 spot. Maybe they forgot the season started? They got shut out three times and only scored 11 goals while allowing 29. The only game they won was a one goal game against the Ottawa Senators.

Being in the Atlantic division is going to be rough, especially starting out this slow. They need to make changes quick before they dig their hole too deep and can’t get out of it.


Best Teams of Week 1:

Calgary Flames:
Record for week 1: 8-1-0

Ranked 13th (in West) in the post bidding rankings, the Flames took it to heart and came out strong. They only lost to the St. Louis Blues in a one goal game while winning the rest. The Flames scored 38 goals and only allowed 17 and getting two shut outs in the process (Dallas and Vancouver).

It is an impressive start to their season as they sit in first place in the West. They will have a challenge keeping this pace throughout the season, but for now, bravo Calgary. Its safe to say Calgary will be seeing some 1st lines come week 2

New York Islanders:
Record for week 1: 6-2-1

The shocker after week 1 has to be the New York Islanders. Bigfreeze has been given a lot crap before the season started. We even ranked his team at 16th in the East in the post bidding rankings. He answered by finishing week 1 on top of the Metro.

The Islanders scored 22 goals while allowing 16. Two of their three losses were scores of 1-0 (Washington and Florida) while one of their wins was 1-0 (N.Y. Rangers). This shows the team is buying in to whatever system is being asked of while grinding out games. So far it has worked. Next week will be a test as they play the Central. So, give credit where credit is due. Good job New York Islanders.

I would like to point out that yes Buffalo has a great week too but it wasn’t as impressive as the islanders or flames.

 

How is washington and toronto ahead of montreal? and we had the better week.

So your basing all your power rankings on how strong rosters are?? No salt here. Week 1 power rankings are based on how each team did in week 1, not a popularity contest dipshit.

 

I’ll explain it to you pretty in-depth so you aren’t so confused on why your team is now as high as you desire.

In our post bidding rankings, all we have to go by is rosters. This is where everyone was voted on by a number of people. Your team was ranked towards the middle of the pack to start.

Week 1 the list is based off of the previous week and the post bidding rankings. Teams drop and rise base on how they do for that previous week.

This list isn’t a popularity contest. It is a vote by a number of people. Is Montreal rated lower than Washington and Toronto? Yes they are. Has every team played each other yet? No they haven’t. So how would you know if Montreal is indeed better than both of these teams? Because you had one good week?

Keep playing well and you will see your team continue to rise up the ranks. No need to get angry over the internet and call people names.

Show some respect to those who take the time to add content to the site. If you don’t like what you are looking at, do one on your own. Share your thoughts. If you don’t want to put in the time, then sit down and keep quite while you continue to enjoy reading our stuff.

I'm not upset at the power rankings. I just don't get what stats or rating they are going off of? There's no media because people don't understand how they work and they pretend that they have an algorithm and a basic understanding on how this shit works. I would do it myself but I just don't have the time nor do i care. Then you'll ask well "why are you going off in the forums about it then if you don't care" Well I want to read facts and actual results not based on a voting system by other members of the community like. Do any of them look at the weekly stats of who beat who? Clearly not

I'm not talking about a 7 game series and you don't know that until we face off in playoffs so calm down there. Crofto said we didnt play toronto or washington but I see we played both of them. So I don't get where these rankings are coming from.
