Hello everyone, a new season is under way which means I am back with more of my player ratings. This season you will notice a much cleaner and professional looking stat sheet. Also you will notice the addition of the advance stats which I introduced at the end of last year. Unfortunately that means my formula needs tweaking again which is what you all are for. This first post will not show the top 3 players at each position like normal but a break down of how the ratings work. Next week I will highlight the top producing players. New this season is a requirement of games played in order to be ranked. Because of how some of the stats fit into the formula a player with way less games played than the majority could greatly affect ratings. So this season, a player must average 2 games a week. (After week 1-2 GP, after week 2-4 GP, after week 3-6 GP, etc.). Also this season unfortunately, players are now separated into 3 groups; forwards, defense, and goalie. In the past, each position was separate. This is not something I wanted to do but the advance stats were not letting me separate by position. Hopefully, that can get fixed and I can separate by position again. This next part is complicated and I will do my best to explain. If you don't care to know how the formula works and don't want to give feedback skip to the bottom. You will find the link to check out the ratings for all players in the AHL. BREAKDOWN FOR FORWARDS *Anywhere there is a comma means that the categories listed are used together to create a value. It does not mean each one is the percentage listed. Also not that where I put a category will not change how the formula calculates it. So putting assists in team play instead of offense will still generate the same value. I just put it there to help with my initial percentages.* Offense: 80% -Goals (G): 15% -Goal % (G%), Goal Support (GS): 25% -Assists (A): 9% -Assists % (A%), Goal Support (GS): 15% -Offensive Zone Efficiency (OZE): 9.6% -Powerplay Efficiency (P2E): 6.4% Defense: 10% -Own End Efficiency (OEE): 3% -Shot Against Factor (SAF): 1% -Personal Penalty Kill Efficiency (PPKE): 1.5% -Goals Against (2nd GA): 1% -Takeaways (TA): 3% -Blocked Shots (BS): 0.5% Team Play: 10% -Plus/Minus: 1% -Penalty Minutes: 4% -Hits: 1% -Giveaways (1st GA): 4% BREAKDOWN FOR DEFENSEMEN *Anywhere there is a comma means that the categories listed are used together to create a value. It does not mean each one is the percentage listed. Also not that where I put a category will not change how the formula calculates it. So putting assists in team play instead of offense will still generate the same value. It does not mean each one is the percentage listed. Also not that where I put a category will not change how the formula calculates it. So putting assists in team play instead of offense will still generate the same value. I am doing this to give the community a cool, different stat to look at and I want it to be fair for everyone. Giving scorers proper credit but also giving credit to amazing defensive forwards and defensemen. As I was typing I did notice a discrepancy between the forwards and defensemen formulas and I am going to do some research to make that more consistent. If there is any questions about anything involving this post or the stat sheet please let me know and I will gladly clarify. Here is the link to see how you rate against your competitors. ITS ABOUT TIME everyone take a picture of that shitter AllinFitness as number 1 goalie. i now can retire
not sure what that rank column is for, but it doesnt make sense for most of the goalies, pretty sure his ranking is off the ranking value. @xMAssStAtiC- whats the ranking column? says i am 19, a goalie like bobcat says 50. does this column mean anything?
@FITTY-41- it is a useless stat. It is where you were listed on the lg site. I have to hide it like I did for the other player groups.
My bad fitty, having a number directly under the word rank in the very first column was rather misleading...lol
