Hello Everyone, Eventually we will work towards a LGHL Magazine for the Write-Ups, but as of right now, its still a work in progress. Here is the Metro Division Pre-Season Write-Up done by @Gamingfreak911 ___________________________________________________________________________________________ Welcome to my S12 predictions for the Metro division. This is my first time doing something like this and I hope it'll be something I can improve upon going forward. Without further ado, these are my predictions for what I foresee as a tight and competitive division. 1. New York Rangers Forwards: Gunitdex Hra-ow Dansne God_of_crist Wavy nana Xsloshy JayI77I Selects- Lxcente Defence: Bo-Dangles10 Ryanwashere78 Ztaylorhall4z MikeyD I7I Big_gren xGINGERR Goalies: Breezy5457 Puggeriino A pretty good top 6, a solid d-core led by Bo and Mikey and S11's potential Vezina winner in Breezy means the Rangers are set to do damage in S12 after making the conference finals in S11. Player spotlight: Big_gren After posting back to back 18 win seasons and a 25 point(4g, 21a) effort in s11, the Rangers will be looking for more of the same out of Big_gren. He'll need to prove last seasons production wasn't a fluke, and that he's developed into a quality top 4 d as there really isn't anyone behind him that can pick up the slack if he falters. 2. Columbus Blue Jackets Forwards: JayFelic Sup_Sop Takenotes97 Akonvict21 BigMonge12 Levac27 Domix28- Biggjoker Txctfeezy Defence: Ducks_200IQ Sabu22 Suter_I20I ItsAPurpleDragon RSall14 x_ReAcTiiOnz_71 Goalies: J_carlos_44 StackedPads One of the better group of forwards in the division, led by JayFelic and Akonvict, as well as potentially 3 fantastic defensemen in RSall, Reactionz, ducks and 2 proven goalies has me putting them at #2 in the division. Player spotlight: Domix28 After two mediocre seasons as Tampa's owner Domi has made the switch to LW. A move i think he'll benefit from. He'll have to worry less about the defensive of the game and focus more on using his good thumbs and offensive instincts to score and set up his teammates. 3. Carolina Hurricanes Forwards: DirtyDuster88 Fishhure Jyuhnn Project Gui JClaus33 bstieboydp cup4blues Jeff0012 Ninja-Hertl-48 Defense: Doughty x I8I BA_Sports_Fan Kingduckbuttah G-coleslaw II GOHST II TheKaner_ Goalies: Ryan_x_28 vSheepDog At #3 I have the Carolina Hurricanes. To be honest, I'm not completely sold on this team but I have difficulty believing a JClaus led team could miss the playoffs. Up front after Claus, Gui, and Jeff the depth gets thin rather quickly. How well the 3rd liner types and the career AHLer perform will decide how this season goes. That being said, the defense on this team is quite good, and can all chip in offensively, so the forwards just need to be competent to have success. Player spotlight: II GOHST II A defenseman who had is coming out party in last season's playoffs. Showing he could shutdown some of the best players around in SirGab and Diamond and provide some offence to boot. If he can carry that kind of success into NHL 20 and S12, you may be looking at next seasons Calder winner. 4. New Jersey Devils Forwards: BKerslake8 Zamne AAli x 21 CantTreadOnMe_ Leafs780 Serpe x 13 ScooTz-10 HazeeHype J_sherminator Defense: D_SPORS_5 joestud18 cute guy xD Bc bud024 Bry2230 Reincremation Goalies DrNasty415 XxMatt-_-26 Lots of depth up front but lacks that proven elite force that can just take over games at times that every team needs. Should be a very good 3rd line is as good as any and Sherminator is an underrated scorer. An average defense core will be what holds this team back from hitting their true potential and why I have them at #4. Player spotlight: HazeeHype After after having an abysmal NHL 19, Hazee comes into S12 on an New Jersey team with solid talent and depth on front. Will he rebound to his pre NHL 19 form, or will he continue his path as arguably the most overhyped player on PSN? 5. Philadelphia Flyers Forwards: DanielEPS xLeGenDaRyy- Crafted-95 Xx LoL xX 9 BROSKI_002 Pier Talent I9I_Bento_I3I Mcinnis666 Jxsse-21 Defense: Moranaconda PattyLive enb016 IceAJ420 I Hobbs I Lehk- Goalies: SHArKIE_MTL Capitalsfan_08 Definition of a team built for run 'n' gun hockey. This team is gonna score alot of goals. Unfortunately, they'll likely have a fair amount of trouble keeping out of their own net as this top 6 is pretty bad with no clear #1 or top pairing. They have a good goaltender in Capitalsfan_08, but will he be able to extinguish the dumpster fires in front of him? I'm not so sure, and thats why I have them #5. Player spotlight: Capitalsfan_08 Simply put, he needs to be this teams MVP this season for them to make noise. If he's average or worse the Flyers will likely miss the Playoffs. If he's great, there's a chance they could win the division. 6. Washington Capitals Forwards: ZeRo-I92I SirGab- Mik3pwnzu aREAP__ Baba_Booey22 i9i-Stamkos-i1ic iTzzGamETimE_ Jasono_x_I96I Mondy-_-91 Defence: DahlinI8I jaZz134 Jrascia Kroeger71 xBrando92 Jpinvmt Goalies: ciulla19 AnAmericanPsycho I really question the depth on this team. The forwards outside of Reap and Gab leave me wholly unimpressed, considering the roles some will have to play, and the defence just isn't up to snuff outside of Joe, even if I think Jpinvmt is an underrated pickup. Player spotlight: Jrascia Jrascia comes to the Caps hoping to return to form after a down season. At 8.5m, he's paid as an elite d-man coming into S12, and he'll be counted on to lead a rather mediocre defense outside of him. Jrascia performance this season could make or break the Caps playoff hopes. 7. Pittsburgh Penguins Forwards: Mjvoell44 prodigytolegend Racing-rangu17 FatHogChelly NickyP1999 Saucenikov Jlm1410 JKHank07 SuDzy92 Defence: CFairman7 notorious250 xOneTimer MrMiikeh OutlawDemo Markz_51 Goalies: cgiroux11 goalieman92 A pretty good forward group on paper for a team I have ranked 7th in the division. Two lines capable of winning games and a okay 3rd. The defense core is a bit of a hot mess, with the majority of them being guys I would consider fringe 2nd pair guys at best and a couple unproven rookies drafted late in the first round. I also don't think west will be as big of thing in 20 as it was in previous iterations, hence why I've got the Penguins 7th. Player spotlight: NickyP1999 NickyPing had himself quite the NHL 19. Averaging 21 wins, and 76 points per season, proving himself to be dominate, especially on west. He'll need to continue that type of success into S12 without Keeks or Dparans for this team to have a shot of making the playoffs. 8. New York Islanders Forwards: AgentSooksta008 Smetmatt19 TiberiussMagnus x_Jedi_x420 Goostaav ToxicTakeover69 Xx_Qc_B_BLazInG4 mtl-cor Mxrtel Defence: Stokes x I13I Perdikiotes Royalkc85 memphisonfire DrFurryNips Jmbre58 Goalies: kudlacik1 Tabbs85 Not a horrible team, there's some decent depth here that could win some games and 3rd overall pick Stokes could make an impact. But the teams top end is lacking at all positions, and the goaltending isn't great either. Combine being in a tough division has me placing them at the bottom. Player spotlight: Goostaav The prize of Memphis's bidding. Goostaav comes into S12 hitting 60+ points in each of the last 5 seasons, averaging 16 wins per in that span. He likely won't live up to his 9.75 cap hit, but if he can give the Isles a reliable first C/line that wins 2/3 of their games or more, maybe there's potential for more than a bottom feeder here.
