After playing the demo more extensively: + I love the pitching. The addition of the catcher placing his glove where he wants it I love for some reason + Graphically the game is a step in the right direction. Looks damn good. - Loading screens in a next gen sports game (during the game). Tenth of a second, but meh - Fielding still feels a little loose, but feels better as you play more - Lack of enthusiasm from the commentators when you won the NLCS. - Lack of stadium uproar when the home team won the NLCS I know, minor things I am mentioning but I nitpick presentation. I'll give it a solid rental. Hitting was a bit easy as I nailed 6 HRs in one inning, but 2K put the demo on easy difficulty.
+vastly improvement in fielding animations(double plays are nice) +really like the way pitching is handled. +presentation is off the charts. -graphics dont look that great imo(very detailed in player faces) -game seemed to be on the easiest setting since i hit 4 homeruns in 3 innings...by mistake almost. -Swing stick...needs to go IMO
has anyone else played on all star? I played last night and got my ass handed to me on it when i used the cards. Hits were really hard to come by, as was making contact for that matter. Also on the pitching side i really paid for it if i left a pitch over the plate, or anything hittable to both Carlos's
The hitting you will get used to, but the pitching is where you see the difference on that level. I haven't tried the highest level yet, but if all-star is any indication it should be even better. This gives me hope that difficulty will not be a problem and any issues may be solved by the sliders. People are complaining about the fielding camera, but after playing the demo for a while I am used to it. It still sucks, but it does not kill the game for me. Other than this, I haven't heard any major issues that will hurt this game. I am sold and my copy is on the truck to be delivered within the hour.
I played two games on All-Star and still kicked the shit out of the Cards All-Star might be the right setting for the league, but offline, probably is still fairly easy.
Just a few thoughts on the reg game versus the demo. I think the graphics are much better on the reg game over the demo. Things just look sharper to me and look more like the videos people were drooling over. I also think all star difficulty is more difficult on the reg game than the demo. The fielding cam still sucks and is the only issue I have with the game so far, but I am getting used to it just like the swing stick, which I used to hate. The demo had to be a few months old as the reg game is an improvement. I kinda figured this when I seen Floyd on the Mets roster. :chic:
I'm in trouble. You guys are talking about easy this, easy that. Granted, I only played three innings and I got one hit. I had a shot to the warning track but other than than, a few groundouts. My pitching leaves a lot to be desired as the Mets keep getting hits, even when I made a near perfect pitch to where the catcher called for it. I work all this week and likely won't be able to play it before Saturday. By then, you guys will have had quite a few days head start. Oh well.
I'm with you Army; I was veryunimpressive in my first outing. I going to need plenty of practice in this one.
I played last years game, a prospect league and the regular league. I sucked balls in it, getting beat 21 of 30 games. Should be fun though. It's going to be an exercise in futility for me though as I have no plate discipline.
That's right, you were the Rangers I think? I'm so looking forward to this season. I went 19-10 with the freakin' Pirates, I'm super excited to give it a go with my team this time around
