    Monday Night Recap

Last night the LGAHL season 1 playoffs got off to an amazing start. As the fans rolled in, playoff towels were waving and the intensity was through the roof. It seemed liike the collective emotion of the crowd swayed with every hit, every pass, every shot, every goal. Some in attendance seemed as if they lost the ability to sit.

The action on the ice was just as equally intense. Players elevated their play across the board and you could see the level of intensity each and every player brought to the table. And to think this was only game one of round one leaves me dying for more, unable to wait to see what could be in store.

    Onto the good stuff...

    Syracuse VS Lehigh
Starting with the east and probably the biggest surprise of the night, the Presidents Trophy winning Syracuse Crunch took on the eighth seeded Lehigh Phantoms. The Phantoms got off to a quick start tallying four goals in the first period putting the heavily favorite Crunch in a four to nothing hole early. Even down four to zero the Crunch were still in the game at this point considering their well balanced attack and offensive fire power. But the Phantoms lead by @xCxAxSxH23 who registered six goals, two assists in the contest for a whopping eight points on the night, would add two more in the second and tally four more in the third for an astounding ten to nil victory over the heavily favorite Crunch. The Crunch who held a closed door meeting after the game will look to rebound in game two and send this series tied 1-1 heading to Lehigh.

    Providence VS Hartford
In another somewhat unexpected outcome for the night the Providence Bruins were bested five to two by the Hartford Wolf Pack in their first game of the series. The Bruins who came into the playoffs hot are one of the teams thought to have a shot at winning it all; were stalked as prey in this contest. Ending the first tied 1-1 in a tightly matched contest it was anybody's game but the pack would add one in the second and three more in the third. To take this one for a meaty victory and get off to a 1-0 series lead against divisional rival Providence.

    Wilkes-Barre Scranton VS Bridgeport

The seventh seeded Brifgeport Sound Tigers jumped out to a 1-0 series lead in their series VS the WB Scranton Penguins. This one ended in an overtime thriller after the teams were tied 1-1 after one, score remained 1-1 through two and both teams would register a goal in the third to send this one to over time tied at two. The Sound Tigers would end this one at about the thirteen minute mark of the OT period to put the Penguins in need of a victory tonight or risk heading to Bridgeport down 0-2 in the series. Sound Tigers winger @KinglySnipz would tally three points and bridgeport goaltender @complexx_nades would register 12 saves on 14 shots to aid their team in victory.

    Hershey Bears VS Utica Comets
In our Eastern Conference four VS five showdown the Hersey Bears were able to edge out number five seeded Utica. Utica looked to be well on their way to victory taking this one into the third period leading by a score of 3-1. But Hershey had other plans as they would score three unanswered third period goals to edge out the comets by a score of 4-3. Hershey lead by @Boxerbrock and goaltender @tibod68 who kept his team in it while allowing the offense to mount their comeback now put themselves in a position to leave Hershey with a 2-0 series lead if they can manufacture another win tonight.
