after much thought, i finally give in..... ive never played nfl before. this year i tried the ncaa, but i suck at it bigtime!!!! but 19.99 is a good deal to some1 trying to learn the basics of the game. so i could appreciate NFL when it starts. so maybe, after i learn the controls and the basic of the game (which i hope will not take forever).... i can play you guys for some exhibition and see how good you are...... IN WINNING SO MUCH POINTS best of luck to all ESPN NFL GM's
hey guys....... thanks for the welcome. im busy this week, from monday-thursday. hopefully friday around 1 - 3 pm (and for the PST boys, probably saturday and sunday nite after 930 pm). i want to know whats the lineups stand for, particularly the defence. whats the nickel for, etc. and yea, i can take some lossess too until i get familiar to the game ill be ready to be whacked!!!
i forgot to ask, whats the settings are you using guys for the ESPN NFL league??? so i could practise and be on the "groove" with the settings, and if my schedule allows (after NHL league is open) i could join tourney or the league itself (as either a reliever or replacement). thanks.
Because he is in the Madden league. CLICK HERE Those are all the people that own ESPN...although some play Madden.
Why are you guys so concerned with what goes on here? :? Canucks, check the first post. It has all the ESPN guys listed and the settings we are using for the league. If you want to grab a game feel free to contact any one of us.
I am concerned because it is a part of LeagueGaming. It may not be my preferred football game this year, but I am still interested in the league and all, and once it is up...I will check out the site at espnvideogames.com and look for it all, see how it is going, check regularly for updated stats, standings and player trades, and read game recaps should they be posted.
finally after 2 days, i open the box. now playing w/ basic training. got to know what is "juke" (thought it was a jukebox ) and the "the charge" i thougt its only for credit cards...... i might play you guys by thurs or friday. so that i'll not be a BIG SUX when i play this game. heads up ill play the Eagles. (who are these people anyways)
what are these following plays: 1. 4-3 2. bear 3. nickel 4. dime where do u use them??? how do u pick a play whether a pass or a run play offensively?
The 4-3, Bear, Nickel, and Dime are 4 different defensive formations that are used both in this game and in real life. A defensive formation is how everybody lines up. Within each formation there are different plays. As for passing and running, if it is a run play, it will show your running back, a player in the backfield(behind the line of scrimmage) running up with the ball, like an arrow point somewhere. If it is a passing play, it will show all of your receivers going all sorts of different ways.
what i mean in my question is, where do you use them and in what kind of situations. which D is for running or passing?
4-3 is 4 D-Line Men and 3 Linebackers. It is a basic formation and is usually good if the opposition is lining up with 2 WR. Bear is usually better for short yardage situations or stopping the run. It includes 4 D-Linemen, 3 Linebackers, and 1 Safety in "The box", can be lit up for longer passes if your not creful though because you don't have much backup deep. Nickel is 2 Linebackers and 3 DB's. Serves best when your opposition is lining up with 3 WR's. Dime is used when there are 4 recievers on the field or if your are sure there will be a pass. These are just basic descriptions and hopefully they can help a little bit. You should consult Ted Danson on any defensive needs, he is god when it comes to that.
thanks indigo. next question: what are the following and their "job": Linebackers Linemen and how do u know or at least a clue what kind of plays, either run or pass, your opponent going to do ? thanks in advance
