I dont think theres gonna be enough interest caniac. If you wanted you could msg the guys interested and have the game and do an informal race nite once a week or something. But as for me Im going to wait for Forza 3 to come out.
I'll like to see the game.. should be interesting.. Last year I played forza 2.. and then tried to play Nascar and I just couldnt switch over.. I think this time i can give it a better chance..
Hello, Just found this thread, I posted in "new members" section. Anyway, I am here for and interested in the league. My gamertag and forum name are the same if want to send FR , thanks to all.
I could be interested as well depending on the settings and etc. If its ran like the Forza league was, I am in. Good clean SIM racing.
I played the demo didnt really like it to much. Plus I am a huge nascar fan but if you guys want to maybe start up a grid league go right ahead. To demon of course it would be clean we could come up with the setting later and if we have some guys to alot of bad racing gets suspended or points deducted. I ahve heard so far good things about the game though.
The actual game is way better than the demo. Also, it got great ratings from gaming sites...I believe IGN had it at 8.7 (I believe it got a higher rating than Nascar). It's very fun to play. I like Nascar too, but it's the technical side of it that doesn't interest me. If guys really know how to set up their cars, (because I don't), they already have an advantage in the race. With Grid, there is no car tuning, so driving skill is all that matters
I like trying to set up the cars its pretty fun once you know kind of what your doing but I heard in um 2008 the setups are different. i MIGHT go rent grid tonight on the way home from work and give it a go. I got to pick up nascar 09 first though.
Wow. This game is leaps and bounds better than last year. Actually, that's not even emphasis enough. LEAPS AND BOUNDS better than last year. The driving model is now controller-friendly, and the AI is much improved (I've actually had *gasp* exciting races against the computer).... and the custom paint booth thing is just flat out awesome; I'm sure if I race some of you online you'll see my #27 Playboy/Red Bull Toyota, heh. I'll need to add some of you who have the game to my friends list so we can 'own tracks' and whatnot, but I definitely foresee myself playing this game for a long time, unlike last year's when I was pretty much done after a week.
I could get interested in a Nascar league. I am enjoying grid right now, but I have always been drawn to the Nascar games and the strategy of pit stops and what not.
i picked up 08 recently and seem to like it. Just starting to like nascar ...sounds like a cool league...if i get out and get 09 ill def. join. good idea
This is completely off-topic, but I'm still in amazement that you were able to get 850/1000 gamerpoints in Battlestations: Midway. I was barely able to get through the single player campaign on rookie, and couldn't even pass the first ship mission, so I pull up the game page on LG and see everyone with meager scores... except for Marauders with 850, heh.
Well if we get maybe twenty guys we could possibly have like a four for five team league with 4 or 5 guys a team?
I would say your best bet in a racing league, would be to do singles. Teams will be hard to do and get that much interest out of it. Singles seams to me like it would be a longer lasting league with highly interested people. My .02
Yea I meant have like teams to maybe help with setups but have an individual league.. Thats my two cents haha jk man. I think we would need a couple more signups though.
I plan on trying to rent this game tonight. If I really like it, I may be interested. As for using Grid, I have no interest in that. Something about that game, I just couldn't stand. Plus I need a oval racing game, so if 09's any good I may have to pick it up.
