    Welcome to LGHL!

As you wade your way through the forums, it can be a bit of a scary place, but this email should help solve any questions you may have and guide you on your way to playing hockey on the best virtual ice in the world. Some of the information here will also cover the LGFA and LGGT in a general sense, but we’ll be more focused on the LGHL in this welcoming email. Be sure to check out the New User Tutorial no matter what league you’re here for, which can be found here

So, how do you begin your e-career? Well, it would probably the best idea if you became familiar with some of the people in charge of running the place. To start, there’s Tris10. He’s kind of the Cave Johnson are these parts. Built the site with his bare hands and is now the Head Admin and our fearless leader. You’ll be able to tell him and the rest of the site staff apart by their red names. Anything breaks on the website, be sure to check their recent posts and you may be able to see why. Beyond that, reach out to them for anything that isn’t league-related and is only website-related.

Speaking of the leagues, for the LGHL and everything under it, MCDONALD 19 sees to it that beneath the surface things run as smoothly as possible. League decisions and guiding the teams forward are his point of operation. Brodie, as he’s known around these parts, can be identified from his bold orange name. Running the day-to-day shop of each of the three leagues are the Commissioner’s Staff, who also don the color orange. What they say pretty much goes, so if you want to spend your days actually playing games and not sitting in the sin bin, it’s best to follow their instruction. But if you have a question about league operation, they’re also a good contact to go to. Just be sure you use the tools at your disposal and that you actually read the rules, because they wrote them for a reason, and probably contain the answers you’re looking for. If you come to them with a question and it’s in the rule book, they’re going to send you back to read it anyway, so you might as well do it first.

So, about those tools n’ rules. First, the rule book. This thing governs the entire league and will be your first point of reference as it’s been curated from Brodie’s multiple years of running successful organized 6’s. You can find that here:http://www.leaguegaming.com/forums/showthread.php?207746-Article-IV-The-Rule-Book. It’s quite long, but it’s broken up into sections and has been made as easy to read as possible. On-ice rules, scheduling, player’s rights and more are all contained within those sections, so learn them. Got a question on an emergency call up or a jersey tuck? It’s covered in the Rule Book.

Your next stop on this knowledge bus will be the help desk. This will contain some of the more frequently asked questions we’ve encountered from our 3,000+ members. You can find that here: http://www.leaguegaming.com/forums/support.php?do=main&catid=1. Simply search the category you’re looking for and it should have some common questions with a simple answer. Hopefully that’ll put you on the right track, and if you’re still confused, and the chatbox isn’t giving you the answers you need (yep, we have a chatbox, too), then go ahead and reach out to The Authority.

Onto the tools. By the hand of Tris10, we truly have the most innovative, advanced and quite frankly, the best tools and resources of any online gaming league, period. But if you don’t know where things are or how to use them, they’re not that helpful, are they? So Tris put together a great video that shows you how to find your way around LeagueGaming.com. There’s a lot of nooks and crannies on LG, and the videos goes into detail on how to find anything you’d ever need to look for. So look for this vide; it’s the New User Tutorial mentioned earlier: http://youtu.be/NAFx09vXlCo . It also shows you some great things on the mobile app. Yes, we have a mobile app for iOS and Android. And for the dead operating system that is BlackBerry. And for Windows Phone. The WinPho one is still a work in progress and there’s some dinner dates that need to happen between Windows and Tris before some more updates make its way to your device.

Last but not least, we’re also proud to say we are the ONLY league-based gaming website that is an official ID@XBOX Partner! What does that all mean? This thread best describes it: http://leaguegaming.com/forums/showthread.php?209502-Leaguegaming-is-now-an-ID-XBOX-partner . It’s a pretty monumental deal, and something that really makes LG unique. We’re excited for the things it holds in store for us in the future.

That’ll pretty much cover it. We hope you find your time here to be a fun, enjoyable and engaging experience. Keep your head up, get to know some of the members and above all else, thank you for joining LG. It’s a pleasure to have you here, and you are a small part in what keeps this website going, now for over 11 years!

    Sincerely,
    The LG Staff
