http://www.gametrailers.com/videos/uf6o3c/nhl-13-exclusive-quick-clip--goalies Shows some interesting behind the scenes stuff showing how the AI reads the play, different limb control and how that works in animations, and a brief bit at the end about the new goalie user controls. Seems like this is a companion blog piece to the video: http://www.easports.com/nhl/news/article/nhl-13-goalie-deep-dive Any goalies excited?
I'm interested but I don't have my hopes up. I am interested in the limb control just because when I make a big save, I want to flop my third leg around.
My concern is how is it going to work when goalies have 99 reactions. Are they going to be able to say go 99 glove low and glove high and always anticipate blocker? I also hope to make an auto save with their limbs that user goalies have to anticipate, otherwise it's going to be exactly the same as this year except easier for goalies to save one timers.
You want to learn how to beat the goalie on shots. Play the computer and watch how they score. Master that , You have mastered this game in scoring
So what you're saying is forcing cross creases and trying to plow through 3 players (without dekeing) to hopefully magically squeeze through to go 1v0 with the goalie is not how you score and win games? OMG WHAT A CONCEPT!!
Do this, go into practice mode with 2 controllers. 1 of them is the goalie, the other is the opposing shooter (go with someone like Marian Gaborik and his 95 wrist shot power). Put the controller down for the goalie, and try to score from more than 10 feet away.
