Great deal, although I paid only $14.95 for it ;) (Best Buy - $5 off coupon, just go in and buy a "Gamers Gift Card"... put $10 or $15 on it, walk out, walk back in with the coupon and gift card, and get $5 off any game over $19.99).

I believe the coupon comes with the Game Gift Card. Take that with a grain of salt though.

I was in Target the other day to pick up a new Xbox and saw that they had it for 15.95 but they were sold out.

Correct. The Gamer's gift card has a $5 off coupon on the back the cardboard insert it's glued to (inside of a jewel case). It's the only one like that, the other gift cards throughout the store are just standard checkout hanger type of giftcards in a variety of different colors... but the gamer's one has that coupon in it. I always use that trick whenever I get a game at Best Buy, which isn't very often since I'm too impatient to wait for Thursday's when they put new games on the shelves.

Nah, but the wife does. I laugh at her sometimes about the 10 cent off type of stuff. But taking an extra couple of minutes to checkout twice at Best Buy to save 25% off, you betcha.

My wife drives me crazy with the coupon cutting, but with that and the discount grocery card (safeway, albertson's, etc.) we usually save anywhere from $50-60 per trip.

Pretty much, they mark down big sellers to get you in, knowing you'll probablly buy more sh!t. I know BEst buy and Circuit City do it every Tuesday with the new DVD releases.

I worked at Best Buy briefly during college about 10yrs ago. I'm pretty sure the $15 I paid for the game was under their cost, especially if Target is blowing them out at $16 (probably their cost on them, or less than that). Each week these stores will have some sort of "loss leader" where they'll sell a product at cost and sometimes under cost (with a rebate) in order to suck you into the store to try and buy something that will give them a larger profit. I can remember working at BB and checking out the store cost on some items. Stuff like PC's and TV's had little, if any markup at all. They make their money on that stuff (like all stores) on selling you an extended warranty (pure profit, as they are sometimes ~15-20% of the cost of the retail price... and I'm sure 1/8 or 1/5 of the one's they sell don't fail, it's pure BS the way they make money on those warranties). Accessories, cables, little stuff like that they make enormous profits on. Monster cables have 200-300% markup.

I was referring to grocery stores and those stupid little cards they use to make people think they are actually saving tons of money.

Actually, my wife's rules are looky looky no touchy touchy. We were at the beach the other weekend and she actually point out some knockers for me. Now I remember why I married her.
