Keep in mind EASHL is game style 3, while 1v1v1 is game style 2. That is why there feels like there is differences. Currently EASHL on 18 is also game style 3
Still couldn't connect to EA when I tried about an hour ago, uninstalling and reinstalling, but I wont be able to try again until a bit after 8EST. Have these issues been resolved Brodie? @LG McDonald
played a drop in game, not a fan of the random bs of anyone wearing anything they want.. and computer dman are still dump as a box of rocks.. game is still set up for forwards and scoring.
In EASHL, at least in 3v3, the glitch goal where you move your right stick side to side then score still hasn't been fixed. Customization is off the charts this year though. Also, they now have 'loot boxes' that you get when you level up. They include cosmetic items for both pro and your casual outfits and they're given out randomly.
The trips are outrageous, their way of calming down the pokes I suppose. Skating seems good, the stop-go is more realistic. Puck pick up has changed, ten fold better in my opinion.
I cant wait to test this out tonight. People now poke from behind a puck carrier without tripping. As long as this is fixed and pokes when being squared up dont I’ll be fine.
Poke checking has been significantly nerfed which is awesome! However, there will most definitely be a tuner, since there seems to be at least 5 tripping penalties per game lmao. The skating is amazing, actually functions like real life skating, using crossovers and edge work to gain momentum and speed. With the new skating, AI have less of a magnitizing affect, meaning they can’t lock onto you as well. You can actually get around them if you utilize the skating properly. L2-ing will most likely be utilized again, functioning in a similar way as 18. It seems to have a much more whippy effect, and still works quite well. Definitely will take some getting used to. Overall, I think this is one of the best improvements in recent history and I am looking forward seeing the creativity that the LG community can apply to the game.
I think 5 is being generous, played a game earlier and there were 21 tripping penalties in it. Hitting, or honestly doing nothing at all, is better than poking on defense. If they can nerf it a little, I think the game would be a pretty good improvement from NHL’s from the past.
I like how you can get Attribute boosts and have a different play style then the previous 3 Games. Poke checks arent as bad as people think. Depends on your build and your poke check rating. Doesn't matter if the game was perfect people would still bitch about it. It's a good game with a few tweaks it will be one of the better games in years.
I like the player movement and the ability to customize your player based on what YOU and an individual are okay with, gains/sacrifice for certain attributes, the badges you can use, plus the massive amount of customization. I also like the hold away aspect players have when turning and getting around players/defending players. was having issues pulling the Datsyuk? Anyone know if that’s relevant or is my controller potentially broken? Idk, my dekes are working. My dislikes are the lack of consistency with poke checking that’s causing a massive amount of stoppage, however, enjoy not being spammed 500000000 times at one possession, I also like the idea of being more calculated with the pokes. All in all, I like the beta, but knowing EA and their lack of sports competition in the scene, they’ll tune it and fix a few things but ruin everything else. Also, I am interested in challenge club? Did 18’s beta have that aspect?
the menus are a little confusing i wish we could fix. bring back club practice mode. other then that its a good game
That’s because people are being stupid with their pokes. I realized the first game I played after I took 3 penalties that I could no longer poke the way I did in 18. I began to focus more on gap control and angling in order to cause a turn over, like real hockey. To compensate, stick lifting is a lot more OP, it actually feels somewhat like a real stick battle. I agree they do need to tweak the poke checking a bit. But I really hope they keep it generally the same. It shouldn’t be OP like in 18. People just need to adapt to the new style, break their bad habits from 18 and learn the appropriate moment to poke check.
