we need to be able to multi vote plz

 

Goalie speed is slow.

Lateral movements feel sluggish.

Going post to post to stop a wrap goal is out of whack.

 

Love the new animations overall, but it just feels clunky. Granted its the technical beta. Still feeling out the goalie overall but

Pros-
Animations feels genuinely better. (Feels more realistic to play) for those who have actually played goalie on the ice.
Goalie animations look like vasilevskiy when he plays. Covers alot of the lower part of net with pads flush and moving consistently and gloves hands are finally active. (Love this alot, especially since im a butterfly style goalie)



User goalies that just sit in the back of their net and think their good will finally realise that you have to challenge the shooter or youll be beat on shots from slot etc.
Goalie movement from side to side isnt bad but could use some adjustments for release. (both in standup and butterfly)



Cons-
Animations need fine tuned. They don't need taken out or changed, they need minor improvements to help quality of life.

Goalies seem to slide more then what I tell it to do, Both on 1 timers and cross creases i feel goalie is over compensating. (Could be user error tho and just not feeling it out correctly)

Goalie traits seem like my goalie gets worse with traits on. Played great 1st few games without them and then when i put them on, felt like my goalie couldnt save anything.

Sometimes feel i get an invisible block on my D where it looks like they arent touching me but I wasn't able to move to stop a slot one T and i look so far out of position but I definitely moved. (meaning we need allow the goalie to have their space to move freely, granted they want it realistic as possible and traffic in front but D will never understand to stay clear of the crease, maybe just me)

Seen multiple shots go in from the other end of the ice from goalie animations that automatically open up the five hole from a slap shot. Didn't happen to me personally but our team scored twice on it.

Final score for Goalies (7/10)
Feels great to have active hands for once and feels like I have more control over the game. Animations can be clunky at times but still fun. Quality of life improvements like Crease block and sliding mechanics.

Feels good, that goalies that play in back of net will be exposed and not play G cause its not easy anymore.

 

We should have the same G as 20 but with the animations on 21 when we are in butterfly

 

Beta is much more responsive than 20 granted only have played a handfull of games. Blocker as usual is horrendous

 

exatly the gameplay is pretty good but they need too buff the blocker

 

This is the smoothest I’ve felt in a long time.

 

Wonder who did the mocap this yr

 

Kudos to the team for making a much smoother transitional Goalie this year.

After that: worst position in this game.

- the net doesn't become see through like 20 did. Killing your visual on angles and lines.

- I don't care what people above said about only getting sniped if your Goaling it... BS. Play against better caliber players, the lack of save ability is astounding.

- The grace period between reaction time and increased save ability needs to be opened up. Way to many one timers are covered but fly by. Seemingly due to not reacting "fast enough".

I don't know what else to say... played G for years. I don't want to play it again at this point until its fixed. Zero Fun

 

Can we have an option for all of the above?

 

Goalie is so bad. Its worse than NHL 20 and the only good thing i see from it is that the goalie seems to track the puck more while in butterfly.

 

Keep goalie the same as it is right now. The position actually takes skill. Yes I hate it when my goalie lets in a shitter but the position isn’t just middle sitting now.

 

How about not adding new save animations that are totally broken?

 

I find the game feels a bit clunky albeit a technical test I like the new movement precision in butterfly and new animations are promising.... from what others have said about goal lining not existing thats a garenteed this game tho I do feel a bit more reach is needed as I feel even if you are squared to the shooter and top of your crease felt I got sniped and watched it happen alot more than needed promising start for what could be to come imo.

 

Yeah i feel you need to be out farther like top of crease. But i played more and have noticed goalies butterfly goal lining and doing well but still getting beat on goals that couldve been stop by playing out farther.

D Is gonna be 100% needed to do more and stop more to help goalies out. Because this game is harder especially with figuring out new movements etc..

 

Absolutely love it. Only complaint would be a certain 5 hole animation that has been a goal everytime but other than that, dont change a thing!

 

The issue I've been having is when players pass the puck to one another to attempt a one timer and i read it properly i have tried both just the left stick to come across and than the right stick. The goalie will either not move, start moving and when the shot is on its way already he will stop moving as im already in mid motion. It seems like lower half and upper half of the goalie are not in sync. Vision seems to be a severe issue as well for when players are cycling in the zone.

The RS Spead V honestly should be eliminated or an option in the controls should be created to turn it off or on.

The one timers are severely over powered in terms of goalies not being able to read it in game even with people reading it and putting the inputs in to make a save. I understand some may go in but not 90%. Also I agree to the reaction speed and save ability as well. It needs to be tweeked.

I just wish we could have custom builds again as well. The attribute system with traits arent pleasant at all and seem to be getting worse each year.
