* New * NHL21 GameClip Feedback/Changes for the EA DEV Team

As an EA Gamechanger who was mainly nominated by the LG community I want to do everything I can to relay all of the online community's (6s, 3s, VS and HUT) concerns for the game to the devs team. The best way for the Devs to identify and fix issues is by recording clips from the community and sending them in for them to see so they are able to identify the issue and re-create it on their end and try to fix it if they believe it needs fixed

This thread will be used all year for NHL21 clips in order to find

- Bugs
- Glitches
- Broken gameplay
- Presentation issues
- Audio Issues
- Menu Issues

Game is very slow. Make the skating the same as it was in 20. Also make it so the D can pivot it is horrible for defense in this game.

 

Stick lifting is terrible.

Pass intercepts are atrocious.

Passes go right through people in clear position to grab the puck.

Goalies even in position cant make a save and this is not because they are too deep in their net.

Goalie in general feels smooth to move around even when anticipating a shot or pass for one timers the G won't make a move until after the puck is in the net.

If you are 6ft and hit a 5 7 forward there is no reason they should bump off you or bubble. They should be laid out.

 

Lot of promise from this game but i feel like a few things need tweaking.
- Dmen cant pivot well, feels like you have zero while back skating as a dman
- Pokes from behind definitely need to be nerfed, and sticklifts need to be buffed a little
- A lot of passes do seem to go right through people even when they are facing the passer and in the passing lane
- Incidental contact is a bit excessive, If EA could buff sticklifts and just tone down the pokes from behind but keep them accurate from infront they should compensate for having minimal incidental contact. Also make it so passes get intercepted when you're in the lane, making those changes will make any puck battles, breakins, defense, and creating turnovers a more skilled base process rather than luck.

 

The LT nerf is great I feel like I can actually pinch guys off at the blue line now and the poke check is finally effective enough to make people pay for poor puck carrying.

My three issues

1. Picking off passes just is not possible, it's not just cross creases, the max power cut passes get through every time and give guys speed when they catch it, when done right you cant defend it.

2. I think there was a patch somewhere in 20 to nerf bumps that tried to fix it by taking away the aim assist when hitting. That needs to be brought back, it's way to difficult to kill a guy when you telegraph a pass and makes it so that you just have to let him have it a lot of the time to avoid missing an easy hit.

3. One timers (especially from the point) are SO weak. I don't even feel like a threat to score when I am at the point no matter how the goalie is positioned or how much he's screened. It's pretty clear looking at LG players stats too, defenseman goals have dropped significantly since NHL 20 came out.

My overall feedback is just that as a defenseman I need more control over the game, NHL 19, 20, and 21 now have been decided by which team has the better forwards. Defense needs more of a skill gap, not with thumbs, but with IQ. I should be able to see something coming and stop it, not hope I stop it.

 

It’s not a big deal but changing hair color doesn’t change for me.

Picking off passes is close to impossible.

Traits seem to be useless, it is almost to the point you may be better off not taking any traits, the loss is too heavy compared to the gain. There are also traits that just feel out of place, bouncer for instance just feels they ran out of ideas and said "Sure this works."

Poke checks are way to strong, stick lifts are way too weak.

The auto stick checks and take aways are too common. If a take away requires 0 user input other than standing in front of someone, skill ceilings are removed from defense.

Still getting unexpected errors, people lagging out in the pre game lobby.

Ping is awful, west coasters seeing between 80ms-130ms and even east coast players seeing fair and poor connection.

You can knock players to the ice without hitting your right stick, effectively getting away with interference and taking a player out of any play. There needs to be a way to call interference even if the right stick hasn't been used.

 

Passing seems broken. Feel like every “force” is going right through me

 

Just get rid of defense. 5 forwards. 5 skaters I should say. Actually having 2 dmen (and counting on them to shut down all game) is not going to exist.. or if it does they might as well not go past the neutral zone. Game sucks

Here's a situation where a goalie glitched through the net to cover a puck behind the net and get a whistle. Was 6v6 club.

The defensemen pivots it’s probably as real as it going to get, and if you make it so they pivot faster the other thing that is happening is making it easier for bad people to be good at the game. If your a dman and complaining about the pivot maybe you should work on your gap control and stop worrying about you being 6’7 240 slow as sludge maybe if you used a build that wasn’t a fridge you would be able to keep up with the wingers. I think EA did a great job on the defensive aspect of this game

In "Be a Pro" it would be awesome to see a cool animation when you score your first goal in the NHL on your new team. There should be more excitement like there is in real life when your first ever NHL goal is scored.
