    he did run. he just didnt get elected because he announced that he was running WAY after the rest of his competition did. he was def the candidate the conservatives wanted on the ticket...hell even mitt romney would have been better than mccain. dont really understand how mccain was able to beat romney.

    thompson was a buffoon, looked like he didnt even want to be president. The climate in the country was so against the GOP the only persont hey could get elected (maybe) was Mccain, because he used to be a centrist. where his campaign went wrong was playing too much to the base that would vote for him anyway and not going after the independant voters like Barry O did. It wasnt mccain's fault, i think he is a good person and would've made a decent president if he would've ditched all the right wing garbage that brought him down, oh hello Sarah Palin.

    well he sure as hell wouldn't get more votes by picking Joe Lieberman to be VP. if that's what you're trying to say. getting the conservatives to vote for mccain is just as important as getting the swing voters. I know alot of conservatives that would have stayed home if he had picked Lieberman.
