imo that's way too much balance. I've maxed it out at 88 and still got killed being 6'2 205.

 

Its basically the build I posted last year with a few tweaks offensively, lol. Balance is my favoritest thing ever. Im a huge balance advocate, some people think it slows you, I think it warps you. But anyone can hit anyone in this game, therefore weighing it as the stat that stops you from getting killed isn't what you should be weighing it as. When I protect puck backhand, its nearly impossible to hit me off the puck regardless of my size, and its the reason people warp when they try to hit me when I skate somewhere other than a straightline (surprising, right?) In teh corners, I either die and draw a PIM, or survive the hit. Sadly, the "i got bumped from behind, now my guy is gonna tebow and lose the puck" will happen regardless if the Defender has enough aggressiveness, not much you can do. But I do more than hoping the build saves me most of the time, so do that if you dont want balance.

Sure, the hands aren't PLY caliber, but 99% of the time those dekes are useless, and id rather have dominant END BAL and Defensive capabilities. Like Playmaker said, you shouldn't be using balance because you think it'll stop you from getting killed. You get killed in this game if you do stupid things, no attribute will help you with that (it helped a lot with this last year because the hitting was awful, but not anymore). Balance helps your guy ignore glancing shots from people who don't have you lined up perfectly, stops you from needlessly going halfway down when you get bumped, etc.

Grinder is passable on C. Playmaker though, is not (anybody see what I did there? anybody?).

 

Clever lan clever and the twf move so sluggish compared to the playmaker.

Grinder is meh. I prefer a better shot and hands/passing compared to straightline speed, but it is a good defensive build. If it didnt have such shitty hands and passing it might be usable for me.

With the amount of bubbles and stupid shit in this game basically any build can be good if you're not horrible at the buttons. I've got a Superstar 2 with +3 and +5s and my player doesn't seem noticeably worse than anyone that I play against.

 

Balance is useless. Don't listen to these guys!
