Point guard - Playshot or "BP" build (Slashing and Shooting pie chart, not as dominant as last year) - Anything outside of these is a very niche build and will require either superb skills to make up for the shortcomings, or are outclassed significantly by these two. Off-ball guard/wing - Playshot/Pure Sharp/"BP" build - You can make anything with a 80+ 3pt work at this position, you don't NEED to be a lockdown defender at the off-guard position, but generally most of the hash spotups are going to be a sharpshooter of some kind. Lockdown (On-ball/off-ball defender) - Sharplock (Green/red pie chart PG-PF) - Making a lockdown without green in it's pie chart will either be very hard to shoot consistently with, or provide less than optimal floor spacing, but may still work if you have a stretch five or very good at stick shooting etc. Taller SF/PF - Stretch Four/Sharp-Defender (green/red) - Spacing is optimal at this position, but again, with a stretch five, shooting isn't necessary if you would rather be part of the pick and roll game and have the stretch space the floor. Center - Pure red, Blue/Red, Green/Red (Not super optimal this year), Pure blue (requires a lot of defensive IQ to make up for attribute/badge losses), Pure stretch five (to run 5out/space for the PF to run PNR) - Anything outside of these will require significantly more IQ or need a more talented individual to work with. Anything can work at center as long as you have IQ and aren't super small, but also not too tall. These are just the general builds that people run or ask for when needing TCs/players to run with. You can use anything, and people will just have to see your talents with the sticks if you have something that isn't "meta", but anything can work, you just need IQ.
