Preview of Top Spin. Not to much on this game, but this gives you an idea of what to expect. Xbox.com http://www.xbox.com/topspin/default.htm? Ign.com http://xbox.ign.com/objects/492/492737.html?ui=gamefinder
Those screenshots are pretty, but like most sports games they aren't from the camera that you'll likely be using to play the game. The replays and the closeup animations between points will be great, but that distant camera that we'll have to play with (just like Outlaw Volleyball, NHL2k3, most football games, etc) gets rid of all of the player detail. If you watch the E3 video, you can see the birds eye view type of camera. They only show a couple frames of it for a fraction of a second. It's at the 44 second mark right before the player in the white shirt slams his racket down. It's a catch-22 I guess, and you can't have it both ways. The close up and more detailed cameras make everything look awesome, but they are never very playable. The far away camera doesn't look that good, but is very playable (because you need to see the whole court).
The one on XBox.com I don't have a IGN subscription or a userid, so I never look at links to reviews there (even the screenshots don't come up).
which vid is that one? the one on xbox.com has the e3 vid, but doesn't show anna, just shows hewitt and sampras. is there a new one, or are you talking about another one?
Okay, the Kournakova video @ gamespot/IGN shows some real gameplay with a lower/behind the player camera. Looks VERY good.
darn it! i wanted to see those vids on gamespot, but there are blocked out because im not a full suscriber. anyone want to trade gamespot id's for an ign id for a day or two. you can have mine if you give me yours so you can check it out. then we can change passwords after. any takers? or maybe someone can upload them to a website or something.
I downloaded the premium video from Gamespot (the one with Anna). I upload it to my Yahoo briefcase (post your Yahoo handle to get access for downloading). It's a 11MB QuickTime video, so I had to break it up into 3 pieces (WinRar). You can download the 3, and then WinRar will put it back together for you. Or, just catch me on AIM/MSN/ICQ/Yahoo instant messengers and I can transfer it over to you.
on xbox.com, it won't let me play it, every time i click on play with current windows media, it tries to download it and turns red sayin it cannot be played. Is there any other way I can watch the video?
You dont want to watch that one, its cool but nothing special. The anna one is neat though, shows gameplay but from a horrible angle.
