I’ve never refused to play for anyone. Not my fault owners didn’t want to bid on me.
It is. Owners are not going to bid on a guy who constantly screaming he doesn't have the game.
Sorry to dig up old bones bud.
Bottom 3 teams in the nhl regular season play middle of the pack ahl teams in best of 7 series if the ahl team wins the series the players of the nhl team are required a season in the ahl before allowed back into the nhl ( league can protect 1-2 players from each nhl team exempt from going to ahl if their team can’t win the series; maybe a star stuck on a bad team which keeps an unfortunate scenario beyond the stars control in check) ****IMO could make the league more competitive and balanced players in the nhl on the worst three teams after regular seasons should have enough talent to beat a middle of the pack ahl team in a series or they shouldn’t be in the N again in my opinion
I’m always a yes in favor of a roster reset. 95% of the teams are essentially the same each season, too.
Hell, I’d be in favor of a complete reset with a 17 round draft if we really wanna add some spice to this league.
Really think we should just consider resetting every 3 seasons, there are some obvious cons to it since building and retaining a team is an obvious part of the job that good owners enjoy and resetting abruptly is going to come off as a downer to players or owners that like their current situation. That being said, I think it's healthy from a league balance point of view if every first season of a game the slate is wiped clean. You can eliminate re-signs as they wouldn't occur after summer season, and IMO they would be too much player retention given the contract years distributed after the entire league is acquired through bidding. Everybody in bidding at the same time should help to normalize the prices a bit, there will be good contracts and bad contracts but I think it's definitely something worth considering.
Do I change my vote now that I have a nice contract? I'm not sure if I'm doing this right @SweeT 9 LoU 84
This is a good idea until you realize it will absolutely ruin summer season. Picks have no value, bad teams will stack good teams.
Contracts are always going to be rough its not the resigns jacking up prices its becoming desperate to get a player and overpaying them. Limiting resigns/ contract length where a player can only play up to 4 seasons before going back into bidding
As the rest of LG has evolved, I feel like the LGHL has been stuck in the past and there needs to be changes in order to generate more interest from the community. We have players that get bid on really cheap and end up resigning season after season whereas really good drafted players can only stay on their team for 2 seasons. A roster reset would definitely fix the issue with players on really unreasonable contracts. The league also needs to figure out a better RFA system that makes teams want to build through the draft again.
363 to 111
Owners vote is 25 to 6 against a full reset. Some are willing to reset but with protected players and draft pick protections which isn’t a reset anyways.
i know youre a big supporter of a reset. have you ever received an official statement on why the powers that be are so against a reset?
So owners don't want a reset, but players clearly do.
I don’t know I don’t think it’s fair for roster resets on the players that agree to mult season contracts or the management that took season to make a good team from scratch just to reset it on them I think all new owners should have to take a few season to make a good dynasty and not screw over the owners that took the time
they feel certain owners would quit
Have you considered eliminating resigns? Teams would still be able to offer a limited number of 2-season deals per season, and it would allow the market to correct undervalued contracts more quickly. Teams would still be able to keep a core together between draft picks and staggered 2-season deal expirations.
Yes but you should reset and then add, not add. Huge advantage for some teams compared to others. Reset puts everyone on a level playoff field and then knowing the new rules and bidding and building accordingly
