    • Teams are required to use all active players in at least 2 games per week. If a player is only available for 1 night or game, then the team is only required to play him then. The Owner must post this information in the Owners room (Weekly Evaluation Thread.)
    • Inform LO's by posting in the appropriate thread (Weekly Evaluation Thread) of any player activity that prevents a team from following league guidelines. (limited availability, IR/vacation, etc., etc.)
    • A team can NOT remove a player from the team/league without written approval from the LO's
    • Must follow detailed guidelines which will be posted in the owners forums for roster moves such as Trades, Call Ups, Send Downs, Waivers and Releasing Players.

[103] Player Base (All League Levels)

    Players:
    • All players must know the rules of the league at all times. There will be no excuse for not reading and understanding the rules. Stepping on the ice is your "signature" that you understand and agree to the rules of League Gaming.
    • Players are expected to be active in their team locker room and are required to post their availability. When scheduled, you are expected to show up for your scheduled games.
    • Players should be online and ready to play 15 minutes before game time. If you can't make a game, one hour notice must be given to the team to secure a replacement.

    [103.1] Player Status/Eligibility
    General:
    • All players will be grouped by either "Pro" or "Amateur" Status depending on their prior activity in the league.
    • 1 Season EXP is equal to a minimum of 12 games in a season.

    • NHL eligible, and can be drafted, called up or any other permanent NHL roster spot.

    Amateur Status:
    • New players must play a complete season (12 min) in the AHL or lower league before they can earn the "Pro Status"

    • The League may waive player's status and allow all teams to use "Amateur" players if they feel it is necessary for the league to function.

    [103.2] Player Procedures

    Requesting a Trade:
    • A player may "request" a trade. They may not nag, be difficult, disruptive or refuse to play. Owners will document these behaviors and a player could be removed from the league.
    • Understands that it is the owners option to trade you if he feels he can get fair value for you.
    • That you agreed by signing up for the league that you will play for any & every team who has your rights.

    Player Removal:
    • It is the players responsibility to include League Officials on any communication to the team prior to missing a scheduled game. This is to prove that you are an active player. If you don't copy a League Official on your message, you run the risk of becoming an inactive player without any proof otherwise.
    • If a player misses a scheduled game without any notification, they will be issued a "League Removal Warning", an automatic message sent by the Team Owner.
    • If a player receives a "League Removal Warning" they will have 48 hours to contact their owner and copy the LO's
    • If a player misses 2 consecutive schedules games they will be removed from the league (pending procedures) and at the Owners discretion.
    • During the course of the season, if a player is issued 4 "league removal warnings," the player will be removed from the league (pending procedures) and at the Owners discretion.
    • A player who is removed will be sent to the AHL and marked as a "Training Camp" player prior to removal. The player in question will then have 48 hours to appeal.
    • Owners must wait for League Officials to confirm the players removal before doing so. (Thread will be made in Owners forum to track this).
    • These players can not be claimed on waivers

    • Once two teams have submitted a trade, it is final contract and can't be reversed.
    • Trades will only be permitted at the level they are being done at. Meaning you can only trade NHL players for NHL players and AHL players can only be traded for AHL players. Players traded will be assigned to the same level they are currently at.
    • AHL GM's need permission from their Owner in order for any trade to be completed. Owners DO have the right to assign tasks and responsibilities to their AHL staff as they desire. Meaning, if an Owner has given permission to his AHL guy to complete his own trades, they will be processed.

    General:
    • If a manager is replaced or steps down before the Trade is posted in the "Approved Trade" thread, the trade will be null and canceled.
    • When/If there is an owner change, that team will be frozen for trading for 1 week while the new owner evaluates.
    • If the League & New owner feel that that there is a considerable amount of knowledge about the players on the team he/she is taken over, the above rule may be waved. This exception to the rule must be posted in the owner's forums so that all owners are notified.

If Game Loops Back in Time (clock jumps back, rewinds)
The game should be paused immediately before the face-off and both teams management are to contact each other in a private chat to discuss the following:
    • The time the game looped, who had possession, was a goal scored or penalty taken during the loop time.

    • In the spirit of fair play and gentlemanly conduct, this is a simulation hockey league who's goal is to mimic the NHL as often as possible on the ice. We wish to avoid any "cheesy" or "cheap" game or play styles. If you wouldn't see it in an actual NHL game, it does not belong in League Gaming. Please mix up your scoring and in game strategy, repetitive use (either in one game or through multiple complaints) will not be tolerated.

    Game Play:

    • A player may not play in a league game under any other GT than signed up with unless it was changed and process through the site. Special permission may be granted with request to LO's prior to game for unique situations.
    • No diving in the Offensive or Neutral Zones.
    • You may not self board play yourself anywhere on the ice
    • You must use a set face-off stance on any face-off draw, there is no "twitching" to glitch the draw.
    • There will be no ragging the puck to waste time off the clock. You are permitted to setup a breakout by stopping behind the net to make a play.
    • You may not skate backwards up the ice or entering the offensive zone. You would never see a player skate through zones like this and its considered “mocking” the sport and unsportsmanlike behavior.

    • Cherry Picking is limited to situation;
      Unsportsmanlike/Unacceptable:
      • Cherry picking most of the game and not playing a team game
      • Cherry picking any time with a lead of 2 goals or more.

    Acceptable/Legal:

    • When trailing in a game, aggressive attempt to come back.
    • Late in the game, in an effort to tie or win a tie game.
    • An occasional “sneak” break out, cheating out of the zone to catch the other team off guard.

*If there is a game play violation during the game the team committing the infraction must turn the puck over and leave the other team's zone, allowing them "full possession" before attacking. Any goal resulting after an infraction and prior to "possession" being established will not count.

**The league holds the rights to update or amend game play rules as the game cycle goes on. It is not uncommon that new exploits or glitches are found later in the game and the league will adjust accordingly if needed to keep it's integrity.

*Mixed combos may be used as you see in example as long as no player plays more than 2 consecutive games.
**League Officials will be documenting rosters/lines at the start of each rounds to make sure there are no line changes or illegal substitution.

Here is the format for the upcoming
Playoffs, CHL will be ran just like the NHL to keep everything uniform.

    Season 16 – Amendment

    [100] - Personnel/Duties / [103.1] Player Status/Eligibility

    Exceptions:”
The league will be lifting the “eligibility” rule for Pro & Amateur status for the Season 16 Draft. This means that all players will be eligible for the NHL draft, to be called up, sent down and put on waivers if they are signed up at the time of the draft (sign up cut off).

NHL draft will consist of 10 rounds, plus 2 management to equal a 12 man rosters. The draft will be continuous to the AHL draft until all players are drafted.

    Draft limits, including management are as follows;
    • 7 Forwards
    • 4 Defense
    • 1 Goalie
    • Total = 192 NHL players

*Teams must maintain these minimums throughout the season and do not have to expand roster in any positions unless noted in this Amendment (i.e. see “Goalies”)

    AHL Draft:
    • “Round 11” - teams will draft their 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] goalie, until all goalies are gone or until the round ends.
    • The draft will then continue in order with no restrictions until all players are drafted. (+/- 15 rounds total)
    • All players in this draft will be eligible to be called up and noted as "Pro" on their AHL roster

    Roster management:

    Goalies:
    • May play any amount of games in either league (NHL or AHL) and are only subject to the Season max!
    • Once a team gets to 3 G on the combined rosters they must call a 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] goalie up to the NHL
    • A team may use any player in the goalies position as long as its within the “no lock position” rules.

    NHL players:
    • All NHL players may sign up and be used in AHL games if they choose to play on their off nights of NHL and sign up, providing all AHL players get maxed games for their availability first.
    • NHL players can play up to 4 game max in the AHL regardless of the amount of games played in the NHL

    AHL players:
    • AHL players may only be used in the NHL as per the “ECU” standards
    • All AHL players must be used to the max of their availability before inserting NHL players as fill ins.
    • Late sign ups will need to get a minimum of 8 games (actually played, no forfeits) before gaining "Pro" status and being eligible for permanent call up.

    Late Sign Ups:

    • Sign Ups for the Draft will close on Sat @ 12 noon. (if its not physically closed the # will be recorded)
    • A player signing up after this dead line will be considered a "late sign up"
    • Late sign ups will be randomly assigned automatically by the program built into the site
    • Late Sign Ups will be marked on the roster and considered as "amateur" status
    • Amateurs will be required to play in 8 AHL games before earning "Pro" status

    General:
    • Teams can freely manage their NHL & AHL rosters within the guide lines of each action (call up, send down, waiver)
    • At the time the league feels the AHL rosters have grown large enough to sustain weekly games, the league may update, limit or restrict NHL player use.

    AHL Schedule:

    1. AHL season will be 7 weeks long (*56 games), starting 1 week after the NHL season start, with no preseason.
    2. AHL players may be used in NHL preseason games and as ECUs prior to AHL season start.

    *AHL Game times:
    • Sunday @ 10:00pm
    • Sunday @ 11:00pm
    • Monday @ 9:30pm
    • Monday @ 10:30pm
    • Tuesday @ 9:30
    • Tuesday @ 10:30
    • Wednesday @ 10:00pm
    • Thursday @ 10:00pm

*AHL Season is under consideration of less games per week and is subject to change

**All players fulfilling a minimum of 12 games in Season 16 will be eligible for the NHL draft in Season 17.

    Addendum

    Live Transaction rules

    • With the addition of the new live transaction system the rules needed to be updated to reflect the new responsibilities of not only players but the Owners and General Managers of every team. You will find all of the new rules here in this section. Any amendments that will be added will be placed into the proper section.

    1 - Trades

    • The trade window will open at the end of the Regular Season Week 1 (Thursday @ 11:59) for the NHL, this window will be open until the final day of Week 6(Sunday) @ 5:59 pm EST(EDT).

    1.1 - Procedures

    • All trades must be submitted using the proper format in the LGHL Trade tool, for the directions please refer to the Owner Forums.
    • All trades must fall into the Trade window as noted above.
    • Once the trade is submitted the deal is final.
    • If a manager is replaced or steps down during the same week of the trade, that trade will be null and reversed, unless the new management wants to keep the deal.
    • During an Ownership change the roster of that team will be locked for 1 Week while the new owner evaluates the team unless League Officials feel the new owner has a good evaluation of the team prior to taking over.

    1.2 - Eligible Players

    • Players must have played 25% of the games played since becoming activated (League Officials reserve the right to process a trade if the player is below the games played due to “half-week”). Owners are responsible for making sure that the players meet this criteria as well as producing evidence if the player is below the 25% marking.
    • Trades must not place a team over the maximum roster requirements (7 forwards, 5 Defenders, 2 Goalies), any trade that is part of a multi-stage deal and will exceed this requirement must have been noted and will not be processed until all parts of the deal are finished.
    • Players acquired through waivers must remain on the team for a minimum of 48 hours before they will become trade eligible.
    • Uneven trades (2 for 1, 3 for 2, etc) will be allowed as long as one of the following criteria is met; A player is noted to be placed on waivers or called up to make room/fill the spot, There is already an open spot on the team getting the player, if a second deal is being made to move the player then this must be also noted and will not be processed until all parts are submitted.
    • Trades must be the same level (I.E. NHL players for NHL players).

    1.3 - Post Trade Responsibilities

    • Players being dealt mid-week will be held responsible for playing over the games played maximum. They will be subject to a suspension, the length to be determined on the amount of games they played over the maximum.
    • Owners are also to be held responsible for playing a player over the games played limit maximum. They will face a suspension based on their previous infractions.

    2 - Waivers

    • Waivers open at the end of the first week of the NHL season and will remain open weekly from Sunday @ 6:00 pm EST until Friday @ 11:59 pm EST through the end of Week 6.
    • A team must have a roster spot open to make a claim after Friday @ 11:59 pm EST. After that point teams can not put a player on waivers due to the fact they would be over roster limits.
    2.1 - Procedures

    • All players sent down MUST be marked as on waivers, failure to do so or send a player down after the deadline will result in a penalty to the owner.
    • Teams may send any player(s) down as long as there is someone in the system or plans to replenish roster size to league standards.
    • Examples of how to replace roster spots (may not be limited to examples).
      • Call Up eligible player(s)
      • Claim a player off of waivers
      • Recall your player after clearing waivers

    • Any player who is sent down to the AHL will be placed on waivers for a period of 24 hours and can be claimed by any NHL team using the waiver tool.
    • It will be the management’s responsibility to check the News & Roster to see who is on waivers.
    • The lowest rank putting in a claim will be awarded the player after the 24 hrs has expired.
    • Players going unclaimed & clearing waivers will remain on your AHL roster or can be called back up to the NHL, providing there is roster space open.
    • If a player clears waivers, they will then get moved to a CHL roster. Replacing the player called up, if applies.

2.2 - Flex Waiver claim rules

    • Teams may now place a claim on waivers while at a full roster.
    • Players on waivers may NOT play games until claimed or passing through waivers.
    • Teams who claim the player with open spots will have the player ready the second they win the claim.
    • Teams who claim a player with a full roster will not be able to use the player until a time in which they have met the league’s maximum roster size.
    • A team over the Roster size must place a player on waivers within 12 hours, or the player claimed will be placed back on waiver while the league may take action against the management.

    2.3 - Post Claim Responsibilities

    • Players being claimed mid-week will be held responsible for playing over the games played maximum. They will be subject to a suspension, the length to be determined on the amount of games they played over the maximum.
    • Owners are also to be held responsible for playing a player over the games played limit maximum. They will face a suspension based on their previous infractions.

*This is a Season 16 Trial Run. If at anytime, League Officials feel the system is being abused or not working, they reserve the right to revert back to the old system that was previously in place.*
