@Dark_side0895 @AffordableDreams Takeaways can be included in how you look at defensemen, but everybody knows the Takeaway stat line is very inaccurate. Someone with 8 picked passes may only get credit for 4 takeaways, or only 2, at the end of the day its only what EA counted as a Takeaway. It is not a good representation of how good a Defender is because its all over the place. PIMs are good to evaluate, as obviously someone in the box constantly isn't helping their team. There are 3 categories that should be used to select Defensemen all of which are under Advanced Player Stats. OEE (Own End Efficiency)- Average time it takes for the opposing team to score. SAF (Shots Against Frequency)- Average time it takes for the opposing team to get off one shot. GA (Goals Allowed)- How many goals have they allowed in a season (This is more of a tie breaker, as obviously if a Goalie is letting cheese in, nothing the Defense did wrong) There is also PPKE- (Personal Penalty Kill Efficiency) How often is the PK successful while a player is on the ice. These are going to separate who truly can defend and keep teams from shooting or scoring.
