A candidate last season hes back again making just a strong of a case as hes surrounded by some of the biggest names on Center. He leads the finalists in PIMs only take 4 all season long, hes also Tied with GB for the 2nd lowest Goals allowed at 42. Just those two alone show he was a great defensive help to the Maple Leafs all season long and very deserving to be a finalist. 2.) @cj142 - 27 GP 19-5-3 72P 30G 42A +35 16PIM 49.9FO% 46goals allowed 1.7gaa 266GA 95TA (-171) 5SOs. Record Against playoff teams: 8-3-3 CJ is back after taking a season off and pretty much carried the Avs to the playoffs leading in every single offensive category. But this isn't an offensive award, he did lead his team in +/- and the forwards in Takeaways tho. He also leads all finalists in takeaways with 95, which is 16 more then the next guy. I think the only thing holding him back in this award is his face off % which is just under 50%. 3.) @PureRippin - 24 GP 18-4-2 49P 16G 33A +43 12PIM 54.8FO% 35goals allowed 1.45gaa 202GA 56TA (-146) 7SOs. Record against playoff teams: 8-4-1 Rip might've had an off season in the offensive side of things but his defense definitely out shined that. Leading all finalists in Goals allowed at 35 and Goals allowed average at 1.45 makes him a great option for this award. He finished 2nd in +/- and Shutouts behind his teammate. Rip only losing one game to a non playoff team was definitely a major help in them taking home the Presidents Trophy as well. 4.) @GB521 - 27 GP 24-1-2 90P 54G 36A +61 10PIM 57.5FO% 42goals allowed 1.55gaa 253GA 79TA (-174) 13SOs. Record against playoff teams: 13-0-2 Greg has never really been seen for his defensive skill and i have no clue why. He leads the finalists in Wins, Points, Goals, +/-, FO% and almost has Rip doubled as he was apart of a whopping 13 shutouts. You could try to claim he doesn't play good teams but thats not the case at all, as he has the most wins against playoff teams with 13. He also only played in ONE game all season that he didn't get the Black hawks a point.
