Hello LGAHL! That time of the year is here where we take a break from the seriousness of the season and enjoy ourselves in the seasonal ASG. Every season I will be posting this with changes that were made from last season. RED will be rules that are no longer in effect. After each step there will be GREEN for any addition to the steps that occur. Hope everyone enjoys the ASG as much as I do, feedback is always welcomed! Step 1) Thursday of Week 6, PM all GMs requesting their submission for All-Stars. Each team will have a different amount of submissions based on their standings in their division. - 1st and 2nd will be allowed to nominate 3 Fwds, 2 Def, and 1 Goalie. - 3rd - 5th will be allowed to nominate 2 Fwds, 1 Def, and 1 Goalie. - 6th - 8th will be allowed to nominate 1 Fwd, 1 Def, and 1 Goalie. Teams have 48 hours to respond. GMs (or manager making selection, GMs may appoint their AGMs) will be asked to pick the captain wisely and inform them that the captain will be asked to appear on a draft show (mic only required) and set lines for three games from drafted team. If GMs don’t respond, the All-Star committee will make the selections. PMs ARE BEING SENT OUT TODAY. TEAMS WILL HAVE 48 HOURS TO RESPOND FROM TIME STATED ON THE PM. Step 2) After all the teams have been accounted for, Four Polls will be made with the list of captains from each division. That poll will stay open for 48hrs and done by Monday night. The poll leader for each division will team up with the other division leader in their conference. The total poll leader for the conference will be the Head Team Captain. The team will be named after the captain. Ex.) Tino leads the East and Brisan leads the West, it would be Team CACATINO vs Team Brisan66. All the remaining players will be compiled onto a google doc (including the managers not voted to captain the teams). CAPTAIN POLLS WILL BE POSTED WEDNESDAY NIGHT ONCE VOTING CLOSES. Step 3) PM the captains and decide on a date and time to do the live show. Try to use a time that the most people can make it, but more importantly that the Head Captain can make it. Step 4) During the show, the captains will select snake draft style. The conference with the best team in the AHL will have the honors of first selection. The draft will go until both teams have three lines of forwards and defense and three goalies. No more than (3) players from one LGAHL team is allowed to be on one All-Star Team. All players will be drafted until the list is empty. The players selected after each team is completed, is for substitution purposes. These players do NOT get awards, only if they’re subbed in to play. Step 5) In the PM you started to decide on a date and time for the show, the managers will post their lineups for all three games. Those games will be at the end of week 7 on Thursday. If both managers can agree, we will allow alternate dates up to Sunday on Week 8 prior to games. Week 7 to Week 8 is to be considered All-Star Weekend. As a standard, the games will be set for Thursday @ 8:30pm, 9:15pm, and 10:00pm. The three games is just a best of 3 scenario to see which conference is superior and for bragging rights. No additional awards are given out for winning. The All-Star game is meant to be fun and to have a good time. DUE TO THIS COMING OUT LATER THAN NORMAL, GAME TIMES WILL BE DETERMINED BETWEEN THE ASG COMMITTEE AND THE CAPTAINS NOMINATED. Step 6) All the people that PLAY in the All-Star game will be awarded the All-Star trophy. If a player does not show, the captain may select from the list of people that did not get selected during the Live Draft. PLAYING in the All-Star game earns you the award.
