(S9) - Round 1 East Divisional Playoffs Write Up & Breakdown

#2nd Washington Capitals vs #3rd New Jersey Devils


Introduction : @Gour_x_71 and @P t P 10 both make the playoffs again after both clinching last season. Gour New Jersey Devils were a 8th seed wild card team last season that pushed their way all the way to the Eastern finals only to lose to Buffalo. While Ptp Washington Capitals were a first round exist last post season and he hopes this time it won't happen back to back or else some will start to question his teams success. Gour team definitely looks much stronger than last season hence why he is not a wild card but instead in a divisional spot. Apart from the other series in the east... this one will be full of lots of trapping, scoring and hostility. Both these power houses meet right in the first round... you hate to see it. It will probably be the most anticipated series in round one and will get the most views on twitch. Its no surprise to see these teams in the postseason as both were projected to make it. But one team will come out on top and the other will be hitting the golf course. Ptp like BO Dangles know's he needs to get past round one. Gour has done it countless times, Both owners are former Stanley Cup Champions so you love to see this. Gour himself 23-3-2 29 PTS +39 , Ptp himself 22-2-1 35 PTS +49.


Summary: The looks of the Devils and Capitals are combined of a lot of things and stuff, We take both defense's down the middle and the favourites are the Devils on D with a much more established veteran squad. The Devils may have one of the scariest d-core in the league @Gwan 23-1-4 38 PTS +48, Gour himself, his trigger man @Dxwny 13-5-4 22 PTS rounded out by there third string guys who they picked up through trades but both bring respectable defense and can shut down the opposition easily Nightmareonmyst aka King Ramon and Iggy aka Biggy Smalls. The Capitals will really need to find ways to score against the Devils and when they are given there chances will need to capitalize. Otherwise this will be another quick disappointing series for the Caps. Because the Devils will not give them much room for error, If Caps can find holes in this D which I don't see it happening its gonna be a long ride. Although Capitals owner @P t P 10 has asked the league to install more cameras and asked his players to record any type of time loss, So if a Devils player holds the puck for long when the Caps are trapping be ready for it to be reviewed as Ptp will file this for time loss while his team could have had a chance to score/win. Best practice Devils is skate right into the the trap. JK Ptp but you already know this is gonna be a trap fest between both squads. The Capitals defense is very weak and sub par to say the least there offense and goaltending does make up for this. Ptp leading the charge will need to maybe seperate himself from that top line and help his other dmen get a ride with Mclovin and Joey if he wants to keep up with the Devils. @Spooer69 the xbox guy himself rounds out to a respectable 22-4-0 22PTS +47, Imagine if the Caps didn't trade for him from Dallas what there D might have looked like can't imagine. @Jbarnett2001 a well established dman who has been around since S1 but has shown signs of weakness and sometimes does not play good D at all 15-10-1 20 PTS just above .500 from there we take a significant drop..... too SeedOFTavares who was brought in by trade but is not anything really special and the two other guys could well cost the Caps any sign of luck in helping win this series... Again the Devils bring in a very good forward core into this one and with how the Caps d is rounded I just see the Devils exploiting there D. In net you have @lx JoneZ xl who will carry this Caps team past this round if they win followed by his back up Key tops who seems subpar. The Caps will need to rely on there heavy guns @McLxvinn 24-2-0 77 PTS G 50 A 27, @ScaryJoeyy 24-1-0 68 PTS 17 G 51 A, @AgentSooksta008 20-3-1 67 PTS 37 G 30 A, who will need to help the Caps run the Devils out because this team won't be counting on there dmen to do it. There depth is lined up with Gocanucks, Hra-ow who got a taste of this kind of intensity last season with Buffalo in the postseason, I smash fatties who is a tremendous XBOX dman playing forward on psn. Stav and Mxster who can also eat when they are on point and focused in. Out in Jersey shore we see alot of depth not really any guys who put a ton of points this season, only 2 30 goal scorers on this team. Than again there D make up for it so winning games by 2 goals or 1 goal is ok.... @Labrat 22-2-3 63 PTS 29 G 34 A, @Chipy_19
22-2-3 60 PTS 31 G 29 A, @v Sloshy 20-4-3 57 PTS 23 G 34 A. These three are some of peoples fav players to play with, They play real good hockey and have great hockey IQ's. If you ever get a chance to see Chipy go off your eyes will pop out of your head. Sloshy knows all about these types of games and match ups. He will be deployed and carry his line out against the Caps. Lab same thing he will make everyone around him good and is very vocal, great all around team player who was with Jersey last season and wants another shot at redemption. The key here is what Gour will do with his depth players as they all have pretty amazing records. Dustin & Tkachuk were very solid pick ups along with General who I believe was a free waiver claim... This is the same General that put up 21 pts went 5-1-0 in the S7 playoffs with Calgary. If I am the Devils I am hoping after the slump he had this season that General finds his game from S7 @XGEnErAL 420X. Dustin aka Amazing will be relied on as well his playoff experience will come in handy since being in the league Dustin has managed to make the playoffs each season in the NHL with every club he has been with. @Tkachuk__7 this kid is young and hes got real good thumbs a real life member in the CHL of the OHL Petes, Tkachuk will be dedicating his hockey IQ to the Devils this post season. Around the right players he can play all 3 positions but will most likely play along side Marner depending how Gour deploys these guys. @JoPz-95 I was expecting more from him this season but his record is very impressive. He is definitely going to swag out in the playoffs his great shoutbox presence will be lit if the Devils surpass the Caps in this much anticipated division match up. @DanielEPS will need to bring the scoring touch to help the Devils out he is one of the two players along with Chipy who hit the 30+ goal mark. All around with how weak the Caps D looks outside of Ptp and Spooer I think the Devils wont have much of a problem solving any type of scoring. SkinNasty and Soupy make for a terrific goalie tandem and will need to stand on there heads as the Caps bring in a much heated offense into this series will it be all CAPS or will the Devils burn through ? Will find out on Sunday every period in this series will be a crucial one and there is no room for error. I think special teams will be the turning factor in this series.

2nd Toronto Maple Leafs vs 3rd Montreal Canadiens

Introduction: Well its a battle between two original 6 Canadian teams. Two teams that are not far from each-other. @AAli-21 put together a solid team this season but let the Atlantic division slip out of his hands into the hands of Buffalo this season. Ali himself 24-3-0 54 PTS 18 G 36 A, Returning to the post season was a expectation crossed of the list as last season Ali team went on a run to the 2nd round but was eliminated by the Buffalo Sabres who snatched the Atlantic division out of Ali's hands this season. Ali who is a long time veteran in this league knows how to build good teams and what it takes to win. He has 2 players who have already most likely won a lot of hardware. Both of which are his west line mates I believe @Diamonddangles4- who won the Rocket for most goals 57 this season will most likely win the Art Ross as well for most points 97. @BA_Sports_Fan who will win the Norris. These guys can thank Ali for there much anticipated success when they store those trophies in there deposit boxes. @SilKyy_96 brings his Canadiens back to the post season since S7 which was a long time ago. Most of Silkys major success is in the CHL and the AHL. Himself 17-7-3 44 PTS 20 G 24 A was a big contribution to his teams performance this season, Silky was not anticipated to make the playoffs nor was it seen that he would finish in a division spot. With almost 50 wins 46 to be exact and 2 points short of hitting 100 Silkys team finds them self in a round 1 matchup that they could extend if they play there cards right.

Summary: Montreal will heavily depend on @ryno1354 and @Kraz18 this series although the depth on Montreal is above average to help them get some good offense going what will haunt them though is there defense which is below average across the board. @xGrapeCherry is there best defender. Leading the charge @Einx29 16-10-2 72PTS 47G 25 A, Ryno 16-11-1 65PTS 33 G 32A , @KF x37 16-8-2 60 PTS 35G 25A , there depth is consisted with another great pick up from the last draft @jp.jacques120 a french guy who was tore it up this season being it his first. @HaVoc--22-- who plays along side Silky and @Gumba l11l who will also need to step his game up for this team to even have any sign of life in this series. Although I do expect them to play from behind against the Leafs... If ryno and Krazz can give them any hope and extend this series to 6 than Montreal did its job... Problem is this teams defense is cheeks. Although they do have a really good goalie tandem in @Faytal_Flow and @TheBipolarJew69 so if the defense is stuck in there own zone all game and cant break out the puck than these guys can face 30 shots a game. @goalscorer9 and @xGrapeCherry will need to carry this team on defense in the playoffs. @Jpinvmt the top 5 overall pick making his first NHL playoffs debut could crack under pressure as no game in this series will be like a reg season game, Welcome to the bigs kid. Outside of those 3 the Habs dcore is actual shit. I dont even know if these 3 guys will be able to contain the Leafs. Only because the Leafs have the best west line in the whole league and can win there hand of games no problem. As far as @aREAP__ man knows how to eat... can easily carry anybody on the Leafs roster and doesn't need no winger to make him loook good... infact he makes any winger on this Leafs roster look good. We already talked about Diamond how he leads the league obviously in points and goals ... congrats on Art ross and Rocket kid keep up the work in the playoffs. His line mate @xTarasenko91_ mans hot lemme give you some advice Canadiens you want a chance against this team you need to contain Senko because the space this guy creates is absurd... You give him 1 inch he will take 10 can easily score too... 23-1-3 75 PTS 31 G 44 A, @Gui__20 15-6-6 55 PTS 25 G 30 A a late trade acquisition who will need to step his game up in the playoffs by not holding on to the puck for ages and moving it quick not playing predictable... He's got a nice shot but will he be able to beat @TheBipolarJew69 who is one of the best goaltenders in the league. The Leafs depth is nice with Alii who can carry at C as well plays super well defensively without the puck and causes lots of turn overs. Realdemon is sub-par it will truly show in the playoffs the type of player he is, Barely being .500 he will need to do better if the Leafs want to make a run outside of there west line. They do have @Mesmerize-_- who is a old gen beast but is learning that he's become a third line player in the league. He will need to grind out a win out of the two games he plays for the Leafs to help them stay ground level and not lose momentum. @Stiivii-66 and @TheyCallMeRevv round out to be a solid goalie tandem than can help the Leafs past the Canadiens easily. On D we already spoke of BA sports fan he will be on that west line with Tarsenko and Diamond, that line I expect to win every game they play in each series. @xXInfamousOne211 14-7-4 22PTS , @Leg_al 17-5-4 18 PTS and @Samurai-Siaki 23-2-3 9PTS who is BA sports fan d partner again easy wins for that line. Leg al and Infamous will have to hold their own because outside of them they dont have a top pair... which is ok because of the full west line who will be playing on west ping. But Leg and Infam will need to give some support back to their forwards with good breakouts and some clamps on D. Especially going up against some of Montreals top lines in Rygoat and Krazgod. Outside of those two i mean Checkmate has found his home in Toronto he knows what its like to be in the playoffs and is probably just happy hes back in the playoffs after missing them way to often.Goulet will need to be carried as he seems to be way below average and is just on the team so that Toronto is eligible to play in the playoffs.
