Following our discussion Thursday Night this is what we came up with. Roster Size: 8 Buy-In: $120 Additional Roster Adds: $20 each (up to 2) Regular Season will remain unchanged Top 6 teams will be placed into the playoffs automatically. The final day of the regular season will be a Wednesday, the Thursday will be for play-in games and wild card games. 9v12 and 10v11 will play a best of 1 series at 10PM on the Thursday before the playoffs start. Winner of each best of 1 will play a best of 3 against the 7 and 8 seed to fill out the remaining playoff spots (They'll be reseeding for this and only this portion of the post-season) The 8 team bracket will remain Best of 7s with the only change being a finals with a fixed schedule with games split over the course of 3 nights (3-3-1). We'll also be looking to do some sort of "pre-game show" for the finals which with a fixed schedule we should be able to coordinate. We'll be doing a game of the week every Sunday at 10:30 PM in hopes of having something consistent to showcase Pro Series gameplay. Those games will not be eligible for reschedule, if you wish to opt your team out of those games it will be an option. We'll be hosting a podcast every week to recap pro series results, do predictions for the next week, etc. it will be available live on twitch and also on youtube. Will talk to @F5 Penguin about the possibility of an audio only version as well similar to his podcast fridays. Anything I'm forgetting (people who were there for the discussion) please remind me/let me know. Any issues with the current plan for people who weren't there for the discussion, also post here and give your feedback.
Not a huge fan of set times like you mentioned (regular season is fine.) Why can't the teams playing decide a set time? Wouldn't that work best?
For play-in games/wild card games they cant without delaying the playoffs a week, the goal is to increase playoff eligible teams without creating bye weeks.
Just give them set dates they must decide Can't just give them a time period then they need to have it set? So if they want 11:30 instead of 10 they can do so if it's between the days you provide
2 series have to be played before Sunday, teams would throw a fit if they had to play on a weekend, having it all set between Thursday at 10 and Thursday at midnight is the best solution I can see. If the 9v12 matchup happens at midnight then the Bo3 for the last spot might not end until after 2
Was there a decision on a start time for pro series? Obviously Canam is ongoing, but is there some kind of an estimate on this?
Is it possible to weekly or bi weekly availability cuz any game scheduled outside the first week or 2 we will have to reschedule more than likely
Did we decide on everything? I know we had the discussion and everything was taken into consideration and I'm sure you will announce something next week, but it seems a lot of teams are trying to get players together right now. It would be nice to know Times of games: Sun-Sun 8pm-2am (restrictions expansion, flexible schedule, we pick times you set it like last season) Buy-in - Is it officially $120 Roster - 8 (additional $20 per player if we want more Max of 2 adds) (Max 10) Number of Playoff teams - assuming this is based on how many sign up Winnings - Same as above @NugeTV
8 + 2 is official (Might be $15 for the extra players instead of $20) Time of games is official Playoff teams is set at 12 w/ the play-in games to get down to 8 Winnings will be set up the same as previous seasons (Either 3 or 4 teams get $)
Unfortunately I cannot do this, give your best guess at availability and try to work out reschedules. You have and 8-10 man roster, so just try to get everybodys general availability and find the nights that would work even if one or 2 of you end up having work or something else going on.
Going to post the roster thread tonight. More than likely they'll be due April 20th at 11:59PM, and availability will be due April 21st and 11:59PM
With the amount of team being over 30, are the # of playoff teams going up? We could have the top 16 in at this point (current nhl format). Could even use the newer format with just higher numbers.
