Before we start, I want to make sure everyone knows that no member of the committee was or will be allowed to vote for an award in which they are nominated. The Community Vote will be included in the final vote, along with the committee votes. Also, for Strength of schedule, the lower the number, the tougher your schedule. If your SOS was a 7.8 (Conf) and a 15.2 (League), your average game played would be against the 8th place team in the conference, and 15th in the league as a whole. Really high=really poor SOS. The finalists for the Eddie Shore for Season 8 of LGAHL PSN are: Dmac7719 Overall Production 42P, 6G, 36A, +99, 203GV, 97TA, -106 T-G, 1.56PPG, 42GA, 1.56GAA Record 23-2-2 Vs. Playoff Teams 9-2-1, 15P, 5G, 10A, +39, 84GV, 35TA, -49 T-G, 1.25PPG, 20GA, 1.67GAA Vs. Non-playoff Teams 14-0-1, 27P, 1G, 26A, +60, 119GV, 62TA, -57T-G, 1.80PPG, 22GA, 1.47GAA SoS League (16.04), Conference (8.15) Team Performance League (1), Conference (1), Team GAA (1.81) Dmac led all Eddie Shore finalists in +/- and points. An offensive dman like him can be a game changer in tight games when you need those clean breakouts to get the puck out of your zone, and he sure did deliver. He also had the lowest GAA among finalists proving he can play at both ends of the ice. Dmac has been a steady presence on the blue line in the AHL for the past few seasons being around 20 wins each season and looks to lead his wolfpack to a Calder. Big_Gren Overall Production 32P, 4G, 28A, +49, 100GV, 85TA, -15 T-G, 1.19PPG, 47GA, 1.76GAA Record 23-3-1 Vs. Playoff Teams 13-3-1, 20P, 4G, 16A, +33, 60GV, 54TA, -6 T-G, 1.18PPG, 30GA, 1.76GAA Vs. Non-playoff Teams 10-0-0, 12P, 0G, 12A, +16, 40GV, 31TA, -9 T-G, 1.20PPG, 17GA, 1.70GAA SoS League (15.81), Conference (7.81) Team Performance League (1), Conference (1), Team GAA (1.81) Big_Gren tied for most wins and had the lowest T-G ratio among the finalists. Gren played a big role in Hartford’s Presidents Cup season playing a majority of his games against playoff teams. Building off a prior solid season in S6 on a division winning Devils team he picked up right where he left off this season on one of Hartford’s top pairs. Gren was able to contribute on both ends of the rink averaging over a point per game from the blue line as well as keeping his opponents under 2 Goals per game. Tronthedon Overall Production 21P, 3G, 18A, +52, 118GV, 89TA, -29 T-G, 0.78PPG, 47GA, 1.74GAA Record 21-4-2 Vs. Playoff Teams 12-3-1, 14P, 3G, 11A, +25, 66GV, 57TA, -9 T-G, 0.88PPG, 33GA, 2.06GAA Vs. Non-playoff Teams 9-1-1, 7P, 0G, 7A, +27, 52GV, 32TA, -20 T-G, 0.64PPG, 14GA, 1.27GAA SoS League (15.37), Conference (8) Team Performance League (2), Conference (1), Team GAA (1.98) Tron had a breakout season in the AHL as he went from being a career .500 player on underachieving teams to finally getting his shot on a top team to prove what he can do. Posting 21 wins and keeping his team’s GAA under 2 for the games he was in helped lead his Rampage team to a first place finish in the Western Conference. He saw a healthy dose of top competition playing the majority of his games against playoff teams this season and handling it very well. Gumba l11l Overall Production 23P, 5G, 18 A, +33, 141GV, 98TA, -43 T-G, 0.82PPG, 60GA, 2.14GAA Record 21-5-2 Vs. Playoff Teams 14-2-2, 16P, 4G, 12A, +23, 89GV, 67TA, -22 T-G, 0.89PPG, 39GA, 2.17GAA Vs. Non-playoff Teams 7-3-0, 7P, 1G, 6A, +10, 52GV, 31TA, -21 T-G, 0.7PPG, 21GA, 2.10GAA SoS League (13.32), Conference (6.93) Team Performance League (4), Conference (2), Team GAA (2.50) Out of all Eddie Shore finalists Gumba had the hardest Strength of Schedule playing the hardest competition this season. He also had the best record against playoff teams showing he can handle the toughest matchups thrown his way. Gumba’s shown over the last few seasons here he’s a top player both on defense and on forward in this league and has the all around game to lead a team. He was apart of one of the league’s top pairs this season while leading the Wolves to a divisional banner in the Central Division. Curt-Wyrz Overall Production 22P, 1G, 21A, +15, 124GV, 107TA, -17 T-G, 0.76PPG, 81GA, 2.79GAA Record 22-5-2 Vs. Playoff Teams 12-3-2, 12P, 1G, 11A, +7, 71GV, 73TA, +3 T-G, 0.71PPG, 47GA, 2.76GAA Vs. Non-playoff Teams 10-2-0, 10P, 0G, 10A, +8, 53GV, 34TA, -19 T-G, 0.83PPG, 34GA, 2.83GAA SoS League (14.41), Conference (7.34) Team Performance League (6), Conference (3), Team GAA (2.83) Curt had a solid first season in the AHL leading his Admirals team to a second place finish in the Central division while leading his blue line. Curt led all finalists in takeaways with 107 on the season as he made it hard for the opposing forwards to come down his side. He had the second hardest Strength of Schedule playing a lot of playoff teams and shutting them down, as his GAA was lower against playoff teams than non-playoff teams. He’ll look to have a strong follow up season in S9 as he’ll be one to watch out for if you matchup with him.
Once I became @Gumba l11l D partner, I went from a tiny twink to the muscle-bound freak you see before you. He's still got ways to go in Monopoly to catch up to me though.
dmac set an all time +/- record in the AHL passing JClaus’s record from S2.. while playing stellar defensivley. He deserves this. Also luv u @Big_Gren
Honestly the fact he isnt even on this thread makes me sick the dude deserves it put up mad points for being a d man and a killer record having more points than a average forward in the ahl
There was one required stat for a defenceman to be nominated for the top d man award: 20 wins. And before you try to argue, this criteria came straight from the league.
Criteria for the award is best d man in the leauge dude had 2 regulations L's and put up the most points for all defensive this season. Imo that should be more than enough but oh well isnt the first time this has happened I'm sure. 19-2-2 47 points for a dman isnt good enough for this thread. #Lunchboxhero4eddieshore
