Please Vote! Should players have to move up?

Yeah it's definitely my only argument. DUH. It's just a common trend that the majority of those who want to see changes are the ones who can't find success at any levels. Which is truly unfortunate, but at the end of the day they just need to come to the realisation that there's a place for everyone in this league and it ain't necessarily the one you think you deserve. Sending the good AHLers who enjoy the league and are good members of the community to get dicked on a 3rd line in the NHL ain't gonna do the league any good. It will just help the shittier players get a couple more wins a season. And they'll probably still find a way to complain. Meanwhile you'll lose those good players who just don't want to be forced into getting dicked on. Just the way she goes. LG McDonald would get troll bid every season into playing in the N if he wasn't able to skip it. And him using his powers to just be put in AHL bidding would be controversial as well. So this talk is completely useless. It WON'T happen.

 

to say I’m arguing to get rid of good players is wrong. I could care less what league I end up in. I got a winning record in all 3 leagues.

If that is your only reasoning that I want to play inferior players I could just sign up after ahl bidding but I play where I end up. Tbh I have more fun being on bad teams then good teams.

If your response is to try to say our lack of success is the reason to complain just shows that you have no legitimate response.

 

• "there's a place for everyone in this league and it ain't necessarily the one you think you deserve" - true, but what's a fairer general way to determine where someone "deserves" to be than via a bidding mechanism including all players in the bid pool? Do you think you "deserve" to be in the AHL?
• I agree with you re: McD and other site staff, but that could also be addressed via rules concerning bidding on site staff. It wouldn't necessarily need to be a blocker for a general rule concerning bidding signup.
• "Good" is relative. I think it's more important that players are generally grouped within their respective weight class. Shitters like me should fall to the ECHL.
• There are three lines in the LG NHL, someone has to play on that third line and generally it's going to be the bottom 1/3 of LG NHL players. If everyone has to sign up for NHL bidding, the overall quality of that bottom 1/3 will be higher than it is now. (That means more when you're selling tickets and want a more consistently exciting product, so doesn't directly translate to an online gaming league.)
• It won't happen and this talk is as useless as anything else talked about here.

 

I think we can all agree the best option to balance lg skill level and fun factor would..Epstein didn't kill himself

also, not enough managers is the issue. Increasing the management pool is how you fix that. If you take away the free contracts so that a 3rd line NHL can take management and actually be the 3rd line on his team (because he has more cap in bidding) then it would help make teams less imbalanced. It’s not a hard concept to understand. And just cause you don’t agree with it doesn’t make it any less true. Pissing and moaning and saying “it’s a free league, I shouldn’t have to move up, and then “that’s not fair to let those guys come down” shows how tunnel vision you are.

I think they shouldn’t have to, give every league more skill diversity. Although some teams get stacked, so maybe have it to where that doesn’t happen as easy. But if a skilled player wants to play in the A. Should be able to.

LG should pay managers for managing. If you're in the NHL you get paid more than in the AHL.

CHL doesn't get paid fuck those kids. Give people some sort of incentive because atm its basically free babysitting and French is right. I'd way rather babysit kids who all want to play than ones who have a bad attitude based off of community perception or "what their friends think of you" or even worse ones that try and force their way to where they want to go.

 

The media team is always looking for content, and I agree with @NotoriousFAT 00 that this would actually be a great debate for a twitch stream. There are legitimate arguments on both sides here. It's also refreshing to see a thread with a legitimate debate that doesn't immediately devolve into a fight. (There are a few minor skirmishes here, but I'd say they are still pretty respectful).

LG has to strike a balance between competitive structure and overall fun, but let’s call it what it is. If you’re dodging, it’s because you don’t think you’ll be able to hack it at that higher tier and win enough games to enjoy yourself.

There's should be a single signup date for the season. If you are not signed up by that date, you become a randomly-assigned TC in the highest league you have played. (That's right, TC's for each league. If you signup late, you get say a max of 10 games that season and no playoffs. You cannot play down).
