The 80-90 points rule wouldn't work. Imagine a total dickhead ends up on that list.. NHL or AHL owners would be forced to bring a bad attitude in their team. Talent usually filters to the top in LG anyways. Such a rule would also be disruptive to the natural flow of the league.
What about before or after bidding in chl have a 5 round draft of prospects only
Also have more of a required availability then 4 games 5 or 6 please for the love of God
Being available 2/4 days is fair, you shouldn't have a whole team that only has 2/4 available but you can definitely manage only having a few
The biggest change the CHL needs is how RVs are managed. The salary change was a great new addition this season which nerfed the impact of RVs, however people are still complaining about how teams can just leave a roster spot open til playoffs and ECU an RV twice a week.
I can see both arguments to this situation: it's bad because it's a sort of like a loophole to the new salary rule (but with many restrictions), but at the same time it allows vets to get consistent games played in the league (nobody is going to call up an 8mil vet, and if they do, they are going to dump a salary of another player who is perhaps good, but not worth his salary). This raises another issue in CHL of new players having an awful first-season experience due to bad management bidding them up to huge contracts, but that's a whole other topic.
My solution to this would be get rid of the <17 roster rule going forward; while the trade window is closed (sunday 5pm est - wednesday 1030pm est), teams are required to have a 17 man roster. Maybe there's a better solution that someone has, but I feel like this will push teams to make room for their veteran's big contracts rather than ECU them until playoffs come around.
How about people that pmay previos season get wjc teams first or whoever is not bid on get made into a team or two or three whatever the case
I'd like to see fewer numbers of TCs per team and a small expansion of the CHL so more guys can play. Maybe have 2-4 extra teams in the CHL or set up a league below the CHL so the TCs will have some meaningful games to play during the season.
Hey, how about time zone support for the app? I'm in MST but all the times are EST, and it would be awesome to have the time zone conversion in the app.
Bro as a roster player you are required 4 a t.c is 2 I'm not talking about tc, as an owner having 4 days of availability doesnt help , you have multiple guys sign in up on different days
Its Not even 50 percent of the games
It's not even so much the 50% of games...It's more like (example... Center#1 can only play 2 SUN, 2 MON and 2nd Tues. C2 and only play 2 SUN 2nd Mon and 2nd Tues. C3 can only play 2 SUN, then 2 on Tues.) WTF is gonna play C on Wed????? and who is gonna bitch about NOT getting their 3 games???? and we need 2 Diff TC's on Wed. (cause a TC can only play 2 a week) Oh, but it MIGHT be better next week! depends on work!
If there’s literally no way to get everyone 3 games given they provide 4 game availability, then there’s nothing they can complain about. There’s physically nothing you can do to get them three games if they’re not flexible enough. You finish off the week with a couple TCs, then you trade some of the guys with a lack of availability, pick up someone from waivers, or call up a TC. When you sign up for the league you’re asked to put how many nights you can play. If you bid on a whole team of 3-4 night availabilities, something is wrong with you. And obviously, schedules change as the season goes on, but your whole team isn’t suddenly gonna bust out with “we can all only play on two game nights” if you bid on a lot of guys with 5-7 night availability.
Increasing the availability requirement is ridiculous, especially for those on the west coast, considering game times are already unfriendly towards those who are either in school or employed working a regular day job in the PST time zone. There’s no reason it should be raised considering that, as far as I know, it’s not like the entire league has this problem every single week.
I think that there has to be an understanding that if you are going to play in a league that promotes structure, team play, and chemistry.....YOU PLAY!!! If you cannot commit to at least 5 games AND practicing with your line mates.....DON'T SIGN UP!!! Go play CLUB games and be happy with it!! Either you are part of that "structure, team play, and chemistry" or you are not!!! Nobody is forcing you to play an online league, but it's like any other league... either commit and show, or go do something else!!! I'm in Arizona, so I understand the time zone part. That has nothing to do with a commitment, or a lack thereof !!!
This is what having good management, scouting, and doing your homework is about. Yes, things change throughout the season but you have the ability to trade nd make other roster moves to adjust to that.
Very true, but TOO many guys BS about availability and whatnot just to get into a game or a roster spot then they are nowhere and yet have every excuse!!!
The Call up system needs to be addressed. How teams at the top of the standings are unscathed by the AHL is really unfair.
Also, the guys on TC that have alot i ability that get no chance for trade or playtime just because the owner doesn’t want them to play elsewhere needs attention.
I know, I've been there. The league has gotten a lot better about holding players responsible for signing up and showing up. Basically being adults on a team. There are tools available for the ones who don't on a consistent basis. They aren't perfect but they are a whole lot better than when this thing started.
Would it be a possibility that college hockey could be added on to LG? If so I want in.
