No offense to canucks fans, but they aren't winning the cup this year. So was Mats just taking the best money he could get this late? Surly the rangers would be a stronger choice for the cup.

Overall Mats will always be a leaf, but damn i wish he waived his no-trade at the end of last year and we did that trade with MTL.

Damn it! Like Tris said if he would have waived his no trade santa clause. We could have gotten Mike Richards and a1st round pick from Philly also!

Agreed. I thinkthis is a Luck year for him. Even if it isnt I wouldent get to cocky if I were him, Ovechkin is going to win the Rocket again this year.

    YEAH VANCOUVER!!!

    SORRY TRIS, But ..

#1 Sundin WILL NOT PLAY before Jan 9th. Most likely between Jan 9th and Jan 17th

#2 I know your a Maple Laughs fan, But show some love for another Canadian team, We have a GREAT chance at getting the Cup. We have the best goalie in the NHL and If you look at the last 10 years or so, It was a GREAT/HOTT goalie that took their team to the playoffs. Lou is capable of BOTH of these as there is only a handfull of goalies that you can say this about.

#3 SUNDIN WOULD NEVER WIN A CUP IN TO, Unless he can still be playing at 60 .... and that is still a HUGE MAYBE for the Leafs winning.

#4 If OTT keeps tanking this year, Look for a 'rental player' heading towards Van around the trade deadline. Even if it isn't a Sen, Van is Top 5 in Salary cap space and will make a move for another winger for Mats. I just hope it isn't what everyone around Van is saying, In Gaborik. GABBY IS AN INJURY CASE although if he can stay healthy for 6 weeks in april and May than I think a line of Demitra/Sundin/Gaborik would be a deadly line combined with the Sedin Sisters who FLAKE in ALL playoff series. Take pressure off the Sisters and we have a great chance at winning the cup.

Well MORE than the LEAFS atleast ;)

    PS

The other 3 teams that he was interested in going to have HUGE CAP problems. The other 3 teams, Yes I believe NYR was one along with Mtl/Ana, would have to trade players to accomidate Mats. Thus could have a GIANT effect on a locker room's chemistry and mats did not want to risk that.

You KNOW Mats wouldn't sign here if he didnt think we had a GOOD chance at winning a cup, It's no secret that is wat he wants :)

    GO CANUCKS GO !!!!

Luongo is a great goalie; but it's a stretch to label him 'the best' with such enthusiasm. Canucks have a chance to win the cup now. Surely more of a chance than have the good/solid Sedins being their top players.

And, it's funny when a Toronto actually makes fun of another team's chance of winning the cup. Heh.

P.S. As for Sundin only signing with a potential cup winner; let me point out he's resigned with the Leafs before. L0L

    LOL true ..

As for Luongo not being labeled with 'the best' im not sure what NHL you are watching. He is Easy Top 3 if not Top 2 in the World.(Active) Yeah Brodeur has a hell of a resume but I think his time will be running out soon, His body is starting to take a toll and he is getting injured. Luongo's injury was a groin from changing directions on a deflected shot, more of a freak thing than anything.

I want ANY Canadian team to win the cup, Toronto even more than Calgary, It seems Maple Laughs fans can't be cool about seeing potential in other Canadian teams. Personally I wnat a Mtl vs Van Cup Finals, Now that would be great :)
