Who was the youngest women's US OPEN singles champion? Martina Hingis Tracy Austin Andrea Jaeger Steffi Graf
Ohhh, that is a good one. I know they were all under 16....I thought it was Capriati or Seles because they battled in a final and they were both 16, but they arent listed. I will go with Tracy Austin because during this years US Open she mentioned something about being young and winning. But I know all those that are listed were all young, and its probaby a matter of months, or weeks, between them and their wins So Tracy is my guess.
The right answer: AUSTIN! Scores: (after 5 questions) Babolat - 4 Woob - 2 canucks33 - 1 Mr. Pappagiorgio - 3 Stangster - 1 Tennis Playa - 2
Switching gender, Who was the youngest US OPEN men's singles champion? Boris Becker Pete Sampras Vincent Richards Michael Chang
By elimation, Chang only won the Frech, Becker was a grass court specialist, and Richards I have never heard of. So Sampras for my guess. I remember he first Slam was at the US Open, as was his last slam. And I remember he started winning early. Sampras.
Since everyone is going with Sampras, I am going with Michael Chang! I know he won when he was really young.
Sampras it is... too easy, maybe? Scores: (after 6 questions) Babolat - 5 Woob - 2 canucks33 - 1 Mr. Pappagiorgio - 3 Stangster - 1 Tennis Playa - 3 Tris10 - 1
i like this next one... Aside from the United States, which nation has won the most US OPEN men's singles titles? Australia Great Britain France Sweden
I would go with Australia. Hewitt has one, Rafter has a couple, and I think Laver was from Aus, not sure. Only player GB has had in the last decade was Tim Henman who has never won a grand slam. France has mosly all clay court players, and no in in the last 10 years from there has won a US Open. And then there is Sweden, which has Johansson, and Engvist, which have only one one grand slam each - not from the US Open. So again, by elimination, Australia has my vote. US of course has the most, but the talent in the other countries arent that great, especially for hard courts. But then again, Im not accounting for girls.
I'm sure Enqvist does not have a slam, but Edberg was Swedish and I think he won the US Open a couple of times. I'm still going with AUS.
