The Little Jets That Could

What a season. Id be lying if i were to tell you i thought we were going win it all before the season started.. but as the weeks went on I knew we could make a push and boy did we ever. I don't think we could've had a harder road to the cup in our first season than the one we had. Colorado,Chicago, San Jose, Boston.. cup check. We defied all odds all through the season and especially in the playoffs. This post isn't made to "toot our own horns" but i want to say thank you to the AHL Jets.


@nO Undies On thanks for stepping up and taking GM. not many proven top NHL guys would give me a chance first season, but you did and you brought us to the promise land as you said you would. I'm glad we got you a Stanley Cup cause now you can go out on top. You scared me pretty well every night showing up at 5 after every night and never answering messages but you did show up and you buzzed.


Right off the bat looking at our roster not many people thought that we would bring it home. Well its safe to say we wouldn't have if @SweeT 9 LoU 84 didn't have to shed cap. He turned our team into 3 complete lines in one move. Though this trade did help on his part as well, making that move was the turning point for us.

All our lines won (some more than others) but every line came up clutch at one point in the playoffs when needed. (@Green Salt 1.9.) Don't think i could've asked for a better group of guys to win my first Stanley cup with. Most had career years, made a name for themselves, proved they can hang up in the NHL, most of all proved we can win it all as a team.


I also want a huge shout out to @BizyBounce and @Winston Payne you two were an unreal tandem and stole a countless number of games for us. Standing on your heads in OT for the boys to pull through. you two played a huge part for the cup, the season and if i could've split the Conn smythe it would've been for the both of you.

I don't know the last time ive posted in the forums but just thought id show my respect to you @Im4thLineWorthy as we've had a lot of chirping going on over the years. But you stepped up and proved to be worthy of an owner spot and honestly showed a lot of people that its not just possible to make the jump from the AHL to NHL but to compete and win. Goes to show how much good chemistry your team had and a solid group of guys you put together. Looking forward to competing against you this season. Dont worry ill be signing up for sure. Haha Again good job to you and all the Jets and good luck in the future seasons bro.

Not sure if that's what he was doing. I was over cap and down a rostered Dman. I needed to call up shmurds and i didn't wanna break those 3 up. He didn't want all 3, I talked him into it to keep them together and bc they'd been on his ahl teamband clubbed together. I messaged all 3 of them letting them know I may have to move them if I could move others. I don't think they would of had as successful as season on my team anyways as we got much harder lines to start the season than them and our availability didn't work around their 5/9 they had as well.


So I messaged 4th again, I saw if I could make a move with the guys he was offering me before the trade. I could so I made the deal. I'd do it again, it got me DaGuy Slam Kav and allowed me to call up shmurds and got me a DP I used in a TC trade for Schroyer who played the max

So, it mightve not come off that way to the author, but the way I read it I was cracking up it was a funny thing to do in a pat yourself on the back thread @SweeT 9 LoU 84
