After just over six weeks of preparation, the LGHL PSN Season will begin. Tonight was only possible due to the hard work and dedication of all our Owners, Managers, Staff and of course Tris. Before the season begins there are a few things I'd like to touch base on to ensure we can start off on the right foot as a League.

Understanding the League Structure, Two Tier + Training Camp

Everyone currently in the League has been placed on a roster. Right now we have three tiers, NHL, AHL and Training Camp. As of now a player whom signs up late, will be assigned to an AHL team's Training Camp.

The thing that everyone needs to understand is the difference between "Active Roster" and Training Camp Roster.

Active Roster players, are the players currently listed on NHL and AHL rosters. These players signed up on time, and were selected through our bidding system. Training camp players, are players whom signed up after AHL bidding, or simply were not bid on during AHL bidding.

Training Camp is where our overflow of sign ups end up. The unfortunate part of being on a Training Camp is the fact that player(on the TC) are not required to be scheduled. Instead, the TC players act as a buffer for situations where players quit, or players are traded, or perhaps sent down.

Being on a training camp isn't the end all be all. In situations where a team needs an emergency player, or requires a call up, the training camp is normally the place an organization can look for said replacement. Also, since all our late sign ups(whom are in the TC) are considered "Prospects", those players will become out S2 Draft Eligible players.

Also, if a player goes undrafted, and signs up on time, that player will be eligible for bidding the following season as well!!

Being on an active roster on the other hand gives you the benefit of being played three games a week! Of course if your play is not up to par, you can be sent down thereby replaced by a player on your organizations TC.

    Stats? Picture? Etc

    I
n order to ensure that our game stats and player stats are verified we have a very specific and highly intelligent system in place. LG's OCR is a system that can recognize images and help assist with stat input. Also, for future reference, picture of all the game and player stats will remain linked to the game in which the pictures were taken from.

The important thing to remember is that stats and pictures are not just the responsibility of our managers and owners. In situations where a game does NOT have pictures attached to it during the season, will result in all the player stats from that game being lost! Therefore it is in everyone's best interest to understand how the stats system works!

In each forum section under the Rules tab, is our "How To" Taking Stats thread(linked above). This thread is the basics everyone needs to know in order to ensure stat input is done correctly.

    Forum Navigation

In each forum section there is a tool bar. That tool bar has links to our rules, stats, standings, Action Center, etc. I recommend taking a look at where each link takes you for you reference.

The LGHL PSN chatbox is located in the LGHL PSN forum section! The green schedule button is important as well. This will allow you to sign up for weekly games and see when you are scheduled to play for the week. Of course LGTV is also there as well for you to see what games are being streamed.

    T
he sub-forums in each section are also extremely important. Depending on if you are a player of a manager will determine which sections you will actually see.

Management Forums are set up for our Owners and Managers to educate themselves, ask questions, post in the trade block etc.

Our League News Archive is the section set up for all the old important posts staff has made to be moved too.

Seasonal Forums - Management. This section is set up for players to express interest in becoming managers for team whom are in need of managers.

Player's Association Forum has been set up to host all of the Player Education posts I've already made, and will continue to make. As players feel free to post questions in here for other members or staff to answer.

    Now for Some Hockey Motivation!

Let the season begin, best of luck to all teams on their path to the Cup!
