A significant portion of the time (especially toward the end of the season), NHL players on destitute teams don't play their games, throw ecu's to the wolves, and drive down the ecu's stats.

When these types of games are played, NHL players like #i-freddy-l , despite being gifted two goals by an obviously overwhelmed goaltender, proceed to try to wrap him the entire game. After the 4,000's attempt, it finally worked, and Freddy's stats shot through the roof.

If Freddy's owner is clever, he will take advantage of incompetent owners (cough, gough python), and it will look on paper as if Freddy is better than he is.

The stats in this league literally don't matter. In the NHL, the owners cannot control the statistics of their players in the same manner that our owners can use the hand of God to set lines so as to fulfill a strategic statistical goal.

In the early days of Major League Baseball, owners like Comiskey would order a player benched to keep him from reaching his contractual incentives. This is a little different, because the owner was dealing with hard cash. However, I can imagine a lot of scenarios where an owner will prefer to send his buddies into favorable matchups to stroke their egos and make it appear that they are wourld-beaters.

There's obvious talent at the very top that cannot be showcased by this league. This is because we don't have honest stats. To some extent, the whole concept of a professional league is contingent on the maturity of the players in the league, and how it is fostered on the lower levels.

There is a lot of talent in the lower leagues that will never be able to blossom in this type of madness.

At the end of the day, the leaders of the league and this website will need to decide if they want their users to experience the real thing- or.... the illusory product that is used to make money on advertisements that our utterly ridiculous.

    RIP TCTC2012

I mean its hard to take anything seriously when people have west lines. The fact that that even exists is why im glad this is only 3x a week. Very forgetabble ssn honestly with the horrendous avail & even lower incentive to even turn the game on.

Tl;dr until EA fixes servers really won’t see what you want.

With all the quitters and what not as a result of summer season there couldn't be more opportunities for AHL and CHL players to get calls ups... Lots of roster spots open up.

    1. Sorry for those of you who care deeply about grammar.
    2. True some AHL guys and CHL guys will be called up and get some exposure. But they can only do as well as their teammates.

Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place and I don't care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard you hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done! Now if you know what you're worth then go out and get what you're worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain't you! You're better than that!

Just going to say this once. It is impossible to have 31 good teams. At the end of the day there are 16 playoff teams and 15 non playoff teams. There are 5 top teams and 5 bottom teams. Just like in the real NHL it is impossible to not have these things be true.

It’s not supposed to be that you automatically make it to the nhl after spending time in the minors. If your truly good enough to cut it in the NHL you’ll find your way there. Players that can’t seem to make it might want to focus on improving their game instead of worrying about the system

If your main issue is how the end of the season takes shape for bad teams, I think that’s an issue for discussion.

Forfiets suck, but playing for a shitty team also sucks.

Certainly some of the management teams could be better, but it’s thankless, and it’s a lot of work. Often times it feels like a second job that you aren’t getting paid for.

People come to you and complain a lot. You have to deal with egos and poor communication. Then you have to babysit your team 4 nights a week to make sure everything goes off without a hitch. There’s a lot of time that goes into it.

I really think the quality of the league is tied to the quality of NHL managers. But I’m not sure how to convince people to take on the role.

A league the size of LG will always have issues like this due to not being enough incentive to scout lower leagues. It's demoralizing to spend hours scouting with no tangible results. Too many players to scout accurately in gaming sessions rife with variables. Without financial incentive, no one will ever spend that much time learning about every player in the league. It's just smarter for NHL Managers to devote their time elsewhere to improve their club.
