JCoul submitted a new resource: Flying Under the Radar - The depth players producing for the league's best An eventful week 1 has come to an end with Carolina, Montreal, Colorado, and Edmonton leading their respective divisions. The big names have had to step up, but for some, the key success has come from down the depth chart. Carolina ll 6-3-0 12 PTS ll The Canes have certainly turned some heads following the first week. Outside of the big names going 3-0, the one player who stood out to me was @zGuentzel , going 3-0-0, tallying 4 goals and adding 2 assists. Guentzel was a part of big wins against Philadelphia's 10 million center, as well as a win against a strong Detroit line. His stand out stat has been his ability to convert, shooting at nearly 70%. Montreal ll 7-2-0 14 PTS ll Montreal is a very average team doing very not-average team things right now. Outside of the stellar goaltending, the Habs have gotten big weeks from multiple secondary players, but the stand out for me is @Spray_and_pray_ . Spray started off his season 3-0-0 with 2 rips and 3 apples. The key stat for me was his record. Teams like Montreal who don't have a stand out offense will count on these guys to win them timely games. Colorado ll 6-2-1 13 PTS ll The least surprising team that sits atop of the division is the Avalanche. They are arguably the favourites to come out of the West and to win the entire thing at seasons end. A team like this doesn't have many smaller name guys but the stand out player for me was @TeeXGrizzley . A 3-0-0 week for the goalie on LD. He is playing with the top guys but has only given up 2 goals against and has a positive GA/TA at 7. Edmonton ll 7-2-0 ll 14 PTS ll Edmonton is another example of a very average team doing way more than expected. Looking at who they've played and what lines they've played it hasn't been a very challenging week, but nonetheless, the stand out player is undoubtedly @nismo_l18l . The LW went 3-0-0, and led the team with 4 goals and 5 assists for 9 points. This guy seems like a very under-the-radar type of player that could be a huge difference maker for the Oilers this season. Read more about this resource...

Also, I'm awesome. 5 points in my three wins? Can't touch this production!
