So in the nhl, good players aren’t moved to contenders at the deadline to help solidify a chance at winning? Pretty sure the phrase “rental player” is what they use, so playoff teams got “rental players” from me. I’m just trying to emulate real NHL trade deadline! Sellers be selling, Buyers be buying. I’m a seller, I sold. Don’t hate the player, hate the game.
1. Syracuse cut their losses and turned over their roster for returning players next season, and as of this reply, 5 draft picks for next season. I'm not sure how that hurts the integrity of the league when it happens in the real NHL too. It's a SIM league, right? 2. If the bold was even REMOTELY CLOSE to correct, the Bakersfields, Colorados, Texass (intentional), and Bellevilles of the league would have their GMs fired for being unable to make a team that can actually compete, the shitty owners in the NHL wouldn't be allowed to return after running shit shows for 3 seasons in a row, and the league would run completely dry on managers. Texas has repeatedly traded for good players, then turned around and handed them away this season, I've yet to see them yelled at or punished. We just laugh at them because they've made a record amount of trades and they keep doing it like they don't understand chemistry trumps any thumb skill. A bigger problem would be people who routinely traded players for garbage all season and won't come back next season. Personally, I'd like to see AHL GMs signed on for multi-season deals with a league review on how they did at the end of the season, and if they forfeited a ton or made absurd trades and there's an application from another member maybe that person losses their spot as a GM, with the owner having a say in that.
I just hope I never make it on one of your teams it’d probably be the equivalent of injecting myself with aids
Shoutout to Belleville and Syracuse. Jon l10l and the Syracuse Crunch have agreed to a 1 season deal at $2,250,000 per season The Syracuse Crunch have traded Jon l10l & KMorgs813 to the Belleville Senators for Kucherov l86I & Grish x 13 Jon l10l has been issued a 2 Season Ban in Season 29 of the LGAHL
New York didn't make a trade with Tampa Bay because they've both tagged the same girls on Tinder and Jeff Gorton wanted to get his buddies to a playoff team. They're auctioning off expiring assets for the best return in future assets, which as I said in comment #12, isn't what I was criticizing. If you got the best return you could, good for you. Only you know for sure if you're a sellout or not.
Were you one of the guys that quit out of a game in the 2nd period because you were losing 6 nothing? I’m still salty we never played the 3rd. I needed to stat pad.

if your team isnt going to make the playoffs, you reward your best players for sticking it out on a shit team by sending them to a good team. theres no reason to try and stay competitive when your team is clearly out of it. its counterproductive to keep those assets around instead of getting pieces for next season.
If that were true, non-playoff teams should simply forfeit all remaining games if they're deadline sellers and not receive any punishment for it. You may have made the single stupidest statement I have ever seen on LG.
You’re trying to drive your point home but saying he made the single stupidest statement I’ve ever seen on LG is completely asinine. Hes also thinking from a players aspect which is true, the guys on non playoff teams post trade deadline are typically not very involved with the team moving forward. They aren’t on for warm ups, they have less issues missing games completely, they half ass it out there, their competitiveness dies out. He’s not wrong with his statement, players start to coast to the finish line if they are a non playoff team or post trade deadline.
People want to cherry pick what I've written, I'm happy to do the same to them. So the solution is for a GM to also throw in the towel and trade disgruntled players at below market value? I've said I'm not complaining about trades for future value, or trading to playoff teams for the best possible return. There are a number of people here who see no issue with giveaways to their buddies. That's shitty behavior. If you consider it healthy for the league, good for you.
