Two Console Conflicts

Have you played on 2 consoles or had a 2 console player on your team?
It's a scheduling nightmare more often than not.

The dream is to give your avail to 1 console and then once that schedule is made, you give your remaining avail to the 2nd console. That almost never works out though and you end up giving bad avail to 2 consoles.



What if we make tiny alterations to the schedule to avoid conflicts for 3 games on each console?

It would give 2 console players and their management at least 3 games where they know they won't conflict with the other console. It would also let a lot of former 2 console players go back to 2 consoling because it got too complicated under the current schedules.


The proposed change would look something like this:
SUN 9 Xbox only
SUN 10 Xbox/PSN
SUN 11 PSN only
MON 9 Xbox/PSN
MON 10 Xbox/PSN
MON 11 PSN only
TUE 9 Xbox/PSN
TUE 10 Xbox/PSN
TUE 11 Xbox only
WED 9 PSN only
WED 10 Xbox/PSN
WED 11 Xbox only

To simplify this
Changes:
Xbox - Monday 11PM is changed to Wednesday 11PM

PSN - Sunday 9PM changes to Sunday 11PM and Tuesday 11PM changes to Wednesday 9PM


This would also eliminate the 1 game Wednesdays - so a guy with bad avail that can play Wednesday adds an extra game to his availability.

It would also eliminate the "need" for NHL guys to sign up for the AHL on their 2nd console due to potential scheduling conflicts.


("Floating" game times to make up for the 31st teams would work under this format - 2 console players might only have 2 non-conflicting games that week though - still an improvement on the current 0 non-conflicting schedule)

 

Feel free to explain your vote if you're voting that the schedule shouldn't be touched.

 

If you play lg on 2 consoles you need to reevaluate your life choices.

 

2 consoles = 6 games.

same number of games you would have played each week this season if you were a good goalie.

2 consoles is only a problem for goalies. If you aren't 9/9 or close Too, don't play on both.

 

How many players actually play on both consoles or have interest in playing on both (would actually be interested in knowing this)? This seems like it would be a change to cater towards a small small group of people.

You didn't bother to read the thread and understand the difficulties with being a 2 console player, even with 9/9 avail.

Kinda the point of the thread, to see community feedback.

26 of 31 Xbox teams have 2 console players (that I recognize) so it effects 84% of the league in some way.

The change is kinda tiny and it could bring back a lot of people who are leaving PS4 for Xbox or vice versa. It also brings guys into NHL bidding from the AHL that are signing up late due to scheduling conflicts.

What negative effect does it actually have?

I've played on both consoles before so I know how it is, especially for goalies. All I did was communicate with my owners and it worked fairly well. I stopped playing on both consoles once my schedule changes and I wasn't 9/9 any more. With 9 games a week and skaters can only play 3, I don't see why he can't play both easily.

 

This reads like someone with no experience 2 consoling in the NHL so I looked at your profile.

It looks like the only time you played 2 NHL seasons across both consoles (S2 PSN/S24 Xbox), you missed half the Xbox season? It also looks like season 1 & 2 of PSN started at different times than Xbox so only like 1 week overlapped during those seasons - which makes sense because if I recall correctly, the first PSN season started near the end of the 2nd Xbox season on NHL 16 (?)

Playing goalie on both was a nightmare this season. Only way it was possible is cause both the other goalies had 9/9 avail.

 

I would tend to guess that more PSN users would take issue with later games (ie. more 11pm starts; which REALLY mean 11:15pm starts because no one can ever have a team ready on time) than worrying about Xbox.

The majority of people work 9-5 or earlier. I think the discussion is valuable, but I can't imagine there's many users in both leagues who can't find the time for both due to the schedule conflicts. Seems to be strictly a goalie issue, if at all.

The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, IMO.

 

Again... no game times would be later as a result of these changes.

 

I was able to play 6 games and my avail was shit

 

For me I was unable to do psn Xbox and eshl so I bought out a ban on ps4 side. And won’t be returning to ps4. If schedule changed I would consider playing psn again
