Two Console Conflicts

Have you played on 2 consoles or had a 2 console player on your team?
It's a scheduling nightmare more often than not.

The dream is to give your avail to 1 console and then once that schedule is made, you give your remaining avail to the 2nd console. That almost never works out though and you end up giving bad avail to 2 consoles.



What if we make tiny alterations to the schedule to avoid conflicts for 3 games on each console?

It would give 2 console players and their management at least 3 games where they know they won't conflict with the other console. It would also let a lot of former 2 console players go back to 2 consoling because it got too complicated under the current schedules.


The proposed change would look something like this:
SUN 9 Xbox only
SUN 10 Xbox/PSN
SUN 11 PSN only
MON 9 Xbox/PSN
MON 10 Xbox/PSN
MON 11 PSN only
TUE 9 Xbox/PSN
TUE 10 Xbox/PSN
TUE 11 Xbox only
WED 9 PSN only
WED 10 Xbox/PSN
WED 11 Xbox only

To simplify this
Changes:
Xbox - Monday 11PM is changed to Wednesday 11PM

PSN - Sunday 9PM changes to Sunday 11PM and Tuesday 11PM changes to Wednesday 9PM


This would also eliminate the 1 game Wednesdays - so a guy with bad avail that can play Wednesday adds an extra game to his availability.

It would also eliminate the "need" for NHL guys to sign up for the AHL on their 2nd console due to potential scheduling conflicts.


("Floating" game times to make up for the 31st teams would work under this format - 2 console players might only have 2 non-conflicting games that week though - still an improvement on the current 0 non-conflicting schedule)

 

Or just prioritize the superior console


On a serious note, the current LGHL schedule has worked out very well and from my perspective I haven't heard many complain about the Xbox/PSN game times coinciding with each other. What about people who can't play early games? You're more than likely ruining their avail no matter the console. The current format doesn't favor anyone's interests and allows everyone to have decent to good avail (more often than not).

The main complaint I've heard is the AHL game times (Quarter to/Quarter past) are horrible and should be reverted to the half hour marks.

There's still the same amount of 9, 10, and 11PM games on both consoles.

 

But they're fixed to certain days correct?

 

They need to figure out a decent schedule on one console before trying to figure out a schedule that would work for both consoles. Shouldn't have 3 games every Monday and Tuesday and just one game on Wednesday most weeks... That's what killed avail more than anything.

It seems like a lot more PS4 guys are planning to play on Xbox next season just looking at the signups. No idea how many of those might be planning on playing on both consoles, so trying to avoid conflict between the schedules could be a nice idea. Just don't see it happening.

 

Yep - but for example on Xbox, you're taking from a day that has 3 games and putting it on a day that has 1.

If you're trying to say that it's going to hurt people that have Monday availability, I can counter by saying it'll help people that have Wednesday availability.

 

I agree with this. The alterations I made would add a 2nd game to Wednesday on both consoles to better spread out the games.

I expect "No" to get the majority of the votes because change is rarely welcome on LG - I'm more interested in hearing why people don't want the change and if their reasons are logical.

 

How about people don’t live for it and feel the need to play on 2 consoles? How about you use that time to go out or jerk off?

 

"Rarely in favor of change" yet we just changed our schedules this season (PSN two seasons ago.) Also made a huge time change to the AHL.

 

It's pretty safe to say this schedule change was pretty much a failed idea in need of some decent changes. Personally my team used more ECUs this season than any season I've ever been apart of... I know many teams were the same or worse, and a lot of that was attributed to the schedule change. I can't speak for the crazy amount of teams involved in second tagging/tag recovery this season, but the schedule could even be a possible source of blame there. "Hey I have shit avail because of this schedule or I made plans and can't make it tonight, play on my tag because I can't be scheduled elsewhere."

 

Not complaining but I have a legit thought. If you are playing on both consoles, Im guessing you have an open availability. Could you just work with both your Xbox and PSN owner about scheduling. You only have to play 3 a week on both leagues. Should be able to fit 6 games in into a 18 game weekly schedule.

I could be missing something because I dont play on both consoles but it seems like unless you have strict busy schedule in your daily life then you can manage playing both consoles the current way. Willing to hear more on this.

I'm against any scheduling changes that push back Xbox games later into the evening but that's only because I work very early in morning.

Again, no game times are actually changed to be later or earlier on either console in this proposition...

That's the best case scenario but almost never works out. More often than not, teams don't post their lines until Sunday which means your secondary console doesn't know your availability until the absolute last minute.


When I was owner of a PSN team, I knew the Xbox owner of one of my players and still couldn't get an answer out of them every week, leaving me unable to decide on lines until the last minute as I waited for that xbox team. I also had a PSN player that played Xbox as his secondary and because that first Xbox player didn't know his schedule until Sunday, this second player couldn't give his Xbox team his PSN schedule until the last minute.

It's an endless cycle of shit.

 

i would be for it if only if we had less useless 11pm games it to late for nothing people work nights or have school the next morning or people work early morning and that a lot of people.
