SUMAwtf submitted a new resource: Week One Overview - What we learned. What have we learned from week one? Some things are up for debate, but I think for the most part we will see certain teams rise and fall that will be fighting just to be in a playoff position. To say which teams those will be is a ball parks estimate at this point in the season. I wish I could say there were some surprises, but so far the standings are what everyone predicted for the most part. Week one for the most part resembles some of last season. Springfield on top in the Eastern Atlantic, Manitoba still dominant, Belleville and Binghamton coming out strong and then there’s poor Utica. Then there is the different, Bakersfield not being the absolute atrocity that it was last season, San Jose while still good isn’t an absolute powerhouse like its prior self. Then we have the Marlies, which is no surprise if you paid attention to their bidding as they really put together a dominant week. Week one is what it is, just week one, and leaves plenty of the season left to be played. Trades, players quitting, and composure leave plenty of room for the rise and falls of teams. I do however expect some of the top teams to basically have these dominant showings every week. Manitoba and Toronto, while you had the best weeks, don’t get to comfortable because you’re also in the two toughest divisions, so have fun with that. Week two should really add into the conversation and cement what to expect for the season as we go forward. It will be interesting to see what teams have better weeks and which teams show more of the same. Read more about this resource...
