After the first week of the new season, there were some surprises and some disappointments. Dallas is a team that most people expected to fail hard, but after week 1 it seems that @Swift Solstice may have put together a decent team. The Celtics on the other hand, they have fallen to 0-6, making them the worst team in the league so far. Forfeiting their final game in week 1, the Celtics are starting to look like the Season 21 Thunder. This week’s players to watch were surprise performers based on stats.

    Players to Watch:

@CookEmUp Dimez (2-2) - Dimez had a very impressive first week, carrying the Mavericks to 2 of their 3 wins. He had 2 losses but they were to respectable teams in the Hawks and the Lakers. He averaged 28.8 points and over 8 assists per game, shooting over 60% from the field and 58% from three. With a tough schedule this week, we will see if Dimez can continue his streak of success or if he will crumble against top teams. If Dimez can keep up his production against better lines, the Mavericks should be looking at a playoff spot at the end of the season.

@Kobsos (2-1) - Kobsos is a new player to the league that not many people knew before the season started. In week 1, Kobsos averaged 23 points and 5 steals, shooting around 65% from the field. Kobsos was involved in the Spurs only 2 wins of the week by beating two struggling teams, the Sixers and the Warriors. Against the Warriors he put up a game high, 33 points while almost forcing the opponent’s point guard to grade out. Even in his lone loss of the season against the Nuggets 2nd line, he put up 19 points and notched 6 steals. Even though the Spurs are 2-4 to start the season, it looks like they have a solid 1, 2 punch in Kobsos and D Andoo.

@Two Lag Shots (2-0) - Two Lag Shots had a big week to start the season. For the first time in his LGBA career, Lag has a winning record in the regular season (2-0). He is currently ranked top 25 in scoring, FG%, 3PT%, steals, and assists. He played against two partial first lines of the Pistons and the Hornets, missing only 3 shots combined in both of those games. This week, Lag will look to prove himself against top competition and earn himself a permanent spot on the Heat’s first line. If he can continue putting up the numbers he did in week 1, he will be a player to look out for.

    Games of the Week:

    Nuggets @ Hawks – Wednesday, 9:00pm

This week we get to see the battle of the undefeateds. The Hawks are 6-0 to start the season with wins against some top teams like the Heat (5-1) and the Pistons (4-2). The Hawks are led by their point guard, @SnypEdaKILLA, who is averaging 25 points and a league leading 13.3 assists. On the other side are the Nuggets who are also 6-0. They have not played as high of competition as the Hawks but their point differential is astronomical. Excluding their forfeit win versus the Celtics at the end of the week, the Nuggets have outscored their opponents by 120 points which would have been much higher if they would have actually played the Celtics. The next closest to them in point differential are the Heat with 101… 19 points less with an extra game played. The Nuggets are led by their reigning MVP point guard, @OG GrandPoppa, who averages a league leading 40.3 points per game accompanied by nearly 10 assists. This will be a battle of probably the two best point guards in the league and should definitely be a fun game to watch.

    Nuggets @ Heat – Wednesday, 11:00pm

I know the Nuggets were in the top game of the week, but they will be the 2nd top game of the week as well. In the same night that they play the Hawks, the Nuggets will face the number 3 ranked team in the league, the Miami Heat. The Heat only have one loss this season which is to the top ranked Hawks. They are 2nd in both Points For and Points Against after having an average win margin just below 17 points. After a big week one, the Heat decided to put @Two Lag Shots in the game against the Nuggets. It will be interesting to see how he will play against top competition. Along with Lag Shots, the Heat will be bringing @A Sniper13 who was in the running for MVP last season as a defensive player, hoping the two of them will be able to help stop the powerhouse offense of the Nuggets. With @Extremee888 in the paint, they have a solid 3 defensive players to matchup with the Nuggets. If the Heat can contain @OG GrandPoppa , it will put them in a good spot to win this game.
