    What defines a &quot

Does that even exist in this game? I know it does in Football and other sports related gaming, but what about in Top Spin? A serve and volley player can't be deemed a "cheeser" if they go to the net each and every point, can they? Or what about the player who uses risk shots on just about every groundstroke? In regards to the latter, I've heard other posters feel as though this is a "cheeser" if they use their risk shots every time. Is there a policy like that here?

none as far as i know. a serve/volleyer should goto the net every time. if i could do risk shots, i'd use them all the time as well.

I built one of my characters as a technician and used his stars and skills to make him a good player at the net. I goto the net on pretty much every play. That's just a style of tennis, not being cheezy at all.

Risk shots on ground strokes are very hard to hit in bounds, so if someone wants to use them alot, be my guest.

Spoon serves and dinking top spin serves over the net are part of the game too, and a good strategy to throw your opponent off balance.... again, no cheeze there.

So far, I haven't seen anything cheeze worthy in this game.

    I hate being Older sometimes " Cheeser " ????

From what XBoxJon stated, it's just an individuals form of play. If he's a net guy, LOB it over his head. :?

IMO opinion there is no such thing as a "Cheeser" in top spin. You do what it takes to win, and just because they can beat you over and over by using a technique that you think is BS doesn't make it "Cheese." Every player has a weakness, find it and try to exploit it.

Cheeser is referring to somebody that somehow manipulates the game experience to win regardless of their ability. People that pause and unpause the game when somebody is trying to kick a field goal to screw up the timing would be cheesers. People that exploit some gameplay bug to score unblockable goals in soccer would be cheesers. Essentially playing in an unrealistic or unsportsmanlike way to get an advantage. At least that's how I've always seen it used.

Yep, Matchstick pretty much summed it up.

In older NFL video games, cheezers would typically always run the same "money play" that was unstoppable... or maybe they'd never punt the ball, or always go for 2pt conversions.

I read it this time Matchstick, thanks.

    So !!!!!

Basically what your saying then is a "Cheeser" is a "Cheater". Kinda hard to do in this game I would think but whatever floats your ego; Win, Lose or Draw I just wanna play.

Well I don't think many of you have encountered what Squid and tpe11etier are talking about and I would say that it isn't a way I'll play. SystemZGlitch uses it some, but now a few other players are doing nothing but it. It's not really a glitch or cheating just not realistic. I don't think anyone here would use it or at least I haven't encountered it with any of you, but it's serving a topspin (B) serve and quickly tapping the (B) to get a no power shot to the far outside and charging the net. There are ways to beat it, but it is extremely tough . I actually wouldn't mind it if the opponent used it some, but not 90% of the time.

Also, this isn't something that if done in real tennis would be effective when done continuously. I mean that would be any players dream to know exactly where a ball is going and that it is coming at the slowest speed possible.

why couldn't you just risk shot around the net against the systemzglitch serve? I have a precision character and i can hit balls around the net if they are way outside.

Well Dagnarus this is different. There isn't a consistent way around the guy because he is at the net and hits it crosscourt before you get a chance to even run for it. I know a few of you might not believe, but if you play a couple of guys that do it often you'd see. SystemZGlitch is a good player with or without it and doesn't do it none stop so you might not even notice it. But there are a few guys that totally rely on it and I think abuse it. Pretty much anybody I have played here would say I am pretty good at TopSpin so I'm not just whining about not being able to play the game.

I use a serve kinda like that, I don't do it no power, but if my opponant is smoking the Risk serve I use that along with another serve and both risk serve's to try and keep them on their toes a bit. I have had people do it against me, and havn't had too much of a problem, but my guy is all about Return Serve's so maybe that helps.
